View Full Version : Amazing Moving Capital Province
Anyone else noticed how if you conquer Rome as the Byzantines, your new kings appear there instead of in Constantinople? Im wondering if the same thing happens for the HRE
IIRC your Capital is determined by the province with the largest number of buildings, but I haven't checked recently.

(It might be province number after number of buildings)
Ahhh, that makes sense. It's kind of annoying though, since i havnt got a proper sea link with the rest of the empire, and both the Genoese and the Sicilians are blockading me!

That's correct. Your "capital" province is the one that has the most developed infrastructure.
To Joshwa: And *that's* why you don't launch seaborne invasions with your faction leader. ~D
You build up your byzantine empire and conquer Rome and kill the papacy.
6 decades of sweat and blood, 200000 florins
Just then your faction leader dies and his heir is crowned in Rome, who's port was pillaged during the conquest. The Byzantine empire loses contact with it's leader and rebels spring up everywhere.
3 years of fierce fighting and churning out peasants to get your provinces back to barely 100% loyalty all with very low tax, sacrificing all your hard earned gains in eastern europe and the middle east.
The papacy reappears with 10 units of chivalric men at arms, 6 units of chivalric knights, 20 units of archers and 12 units of chivalric sergeants in Rome with your trapped King.
Priceless.

That's pretty good! :laugh4: And the reason my King usually stays where he belongs, in the rear with the gear.
Just start building every 2 turn building in the province you want as your capitol. It keeps your capitol in your favorite province and keeps whichever opponent from making the "more buildings in this province than in any other province" glory goal.
