I'm sure this has been done before, but as I haven't posted in awhile, I've decided to make it happen all over again.

Personally, I'm a fan of the Greek Successor States, but since I need to pick one, I guess Bactria is my choice. Either its cause their colour is blue, their geography is cool, or it looks like I could do some nice things with them. Although, all of the above sounds abour right.

So, what's you're favorite EB faction?

I think it has to be Pontos. They really have my favourite units and have a fierce starting position.

Bactria is my favourite faction when it comes to looks, i think all those units are extremely beautiful. May become my favourite faction, I also fell for the blue color.

in vanilla rtw it's carthage.

in EB.. hard to say. probably the tsorim, and aedui.. and swêbōz..

but i agree, the bactrians are probably the prettiest.

My favourite faction in Vanilla - Rome - has yet to be previewed, so I can't say for sure, but of those we've been shown, Makedonia is my favourite (I just finished "Alexander the Great" by Robin Lane Fox ~D ).

My favourite so far looks to be the sweboz. Nice central location for European domination. The Seleucids... they look enviable, but given their size I have doubts about whether the team can prevent them from being fundamentally overpowered.

big size hurts it, rebellion, many enemies, and a long way to transport troops.

From the ones previewed so far, I like Tsorim and Bactria most. The former would be nice choise for naval domination of the Med and warring with big powers like Ptolemies. The latter has nice units and a very interesting starting position ~:)

Certainly the Aedui with their varied units and a good challenge when trying to unite the Celtic people. Tsorim also looks good.

Most probably the romans, at the moment Tsorim or Baktria

Baktrix ruleessss!!!!!!!!!

heyheyhey mind you, you're blaspheming! xP It's Bartix, not Baktrix, may Abokasee save your soul!

But yeah thank Atlantis, I see the Seleucid problem now. Interesting that right at the start the Seleucids are going to get their eastern rump wiped out.

The Eleutheroi!

"We don't need no education! We don't need no thought control!"

Alright, it's not the best song of rebellion, but it's the only one I can think of at the moment. Anyway, you (hopefully) get the point.

Edit: seriously, when EB is released, can someone release a patch- official or not, it doesn't matter- to make the rebels playable? I would do it myself, but I can't mod worth a damn.

To play as the rebels you have to bump one of the playable factions i believe, but it is really an easy fix.

IN MTW you just typed in a cheat and you were rebels. It was reallly boring though.

Baktria looks cool, but I may also go for the Casse or Aedui first too. All factions are really good looking, though I don't know if I'll play any of the Successor States at first.

I might go for a more cavalry military like Parthia. Although, many of the Greek successors have nice cavalry and infantry, like Baktria, I think. I could always take over half the Seleucid Empire instead of letting the Parthians get the pleasure. ~;)

As someone who has been playing them, the Casse are sorta fun and are a good faction to play while wanting to see what the "mainlanders" are doing on their own. Of course I'm partial to Baktria and Pontos, and the "GreekCities" too, among others.

From the moment I saw the Baktrian preview I knew I had to get EB! :charge:

They got Immensely cool units, and I want that blue colour to be all over the map :charge:

I had to. ~;)

Parthians and Sarmatians. Though Baktria is quite fun as well.

The Sweboz and Auedi in a dead tie for me

The Aedui are just the right size and have an interesting starting setup and family, with the possibility for some new traits. They were the first faction I tested with, and I've had a lot of fun with them.

I like the Greeks for similar reasons (except being the first I played, lol).

Swêbōz and Baktria have some challenging battles right off the bat. If you like a lot of fighting, you should enjoy them.

The Sauromatae look interesting to play as.

baktria or macedon/seleucids. still looking for a faction with: good phalanx, flexible assault unit, good peltast, good cav. seem to have found them.
but i shoudl add that barbarians are lookign very good.
hell, i'm turning on "short" campaign and play them all! just hope EB will release teh beta before my holidays end...

My current favourite is the Tsorim. They're versatile (well most of the factions are) and got very nice units. ~:)

the greeks and makedonia are quite fun you begin fighting alredy in te first turn. I also liked playing Baktria and Aedui.
hmmm....but my favourite would be...makedon

In any case the barbarian factions look far more appealing now than in the orginal RTW, due to a proper treatment of their armies and not simply generic swordsmen or various stereotypical units. In this regard the EB are certainly achieving their goals.

Makedonia, then Baktria and the Tsorim.

I'll stick to Baktria. If the Mauryan Empire was in, I'd probably go for that one instead (first, anyway).

When it is released I will play as Romans. The eastern factions that I've seen in the previews look good, but I'm not a big fan of cavalry and I don't like phalanxes.

They're all very pretty to look at, but in the end i'm going with the SWERBOZ. I enjoyed playing barbarians in Vanilla and RTR, so I know I will Love playing them in EB.

Baktria (Bacteria?) has some of the best skins I've seen along with the Casse.

I enjoy heavy infantry with some support cavalry. Not phalanx or skirmishers, but heavy sword/axe men. I use some skirmishers but in the end it's heavy that wins all my battles. Archers are by far the most useless, not horse, but ground archers. THey seem to do little more than take up room in your army. Unleasing arrows against the Greeks or Romans, to date with what I have (RTR), has been a futile attempt. Heavy armoured Phalangies and Legionnares never fall from arrow shots. So barbarians are the best fit for me.

I'm dieing to see what they did with Rome. I have a feeling they'll save that for the open beta though... :(
