We like it. It's fun. It provides a nice contrast to how the subject would be treated if the acronyms were reversed.

Yeah, December is a very optimistic estimate for the completion of EB.

I mean, look at my progress-o-meter in my sig. 25% of what is planned has been implemented after 3 months. Do the math, and that means that it will be 9 more months before the Traits and Ancillaries are done. If such a simple part is taking so long, can you imagine the rest of the mod? ~:eek:

I think RTR's Area of Recruitment system is brillant. I'm anxious for EB to fully reveal how unit recruitment will work in their mod.
P.S....when you play RTR 6.0, check out the Carthaginian units descriptions....I wrote most of them....some of Macedonian descriptions as well.

It's kind of silly they said they found some critical bugs at the last minute.That's pretty much saying "we're sorry, we have not completed it." I even see some of their beta testers just posting pictures to tease people on their forum. That's just ridiculous. You're suppose to test, not tease or gloat. RTR has a history of "finding errors at the last minute." I remember when EB gave an estimated release date for the beta and some people got mad when it didn't happen. However, it wasn't a lot of people because Khelvan said it was just an estimate. People eventually just forgot. No release dates are better for the fan sake.

Maybe you're right. The traits (and ancillaries!) should be finished by June '06, though. And then I'll be able to turn my considerable skillz to another area.

In all seriousness, as soon as we've worked out some building complex issues you will see an open beta. However, as these issues have plagued us for many weeks, it may be a while before they are worked out. We see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyway, I'm patiently awaiting the Open Beta and take your time, theres no rush and no in-prompt to release dates putting un necesarry pressure on you.
I have to say im somewhat disheartened to come here and read all this hostility directed towards RTR, its makers and fans. I dont think ive read anything from the EB modders themselves but im sure they would never stoop that low, the rtr`ers are members of the small but great Total war community, the same as you lot. I have to say ive been playing the total war games from the beginning, way back in the mists of time when shoggy came out(bless its little heart) and my opinion is that rtr is an excellent mod, afterall, you can actually download and play the current version. Anyways looking forward to EB, though ive given up even asking for a slight hint at when it might possibly be released. keep up the good work EB :bow:

I think people dissing any mod has never tried to do the hard work for themself. Of course I'm here talking about the ones that's really serious.
The only hostility I suppose you could find here would be Jebus' post, and I don't particularly like what he says. To find more than that, however, you would have to be purposefully looking for it. Given what you see if you read RTR's official forum (hint: search for "Electric Beastiality, or some misspelled form of that, as the mods there changed every EB reference to that) you would find that you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
However, I will reiterate for those who wish to bash RTR; please don't. We never encourage comparisons with any other mods, and if you feel the need to bash other mods, go to the RTR official forum, as you will be allowed to do so to your heart's content.

Didn't you just read the posts above you? They just said don't bash, and if you must don't do it here.
Have you ever worked on a serious project? Given you work at Walmart I would guess the answer is no (unless you are into the management). I can tell you I have. You have issues come up at every stage in the project, and you know what? They can't be predicted so you can only vaguely plan for them.
I have all sympathy for the RTR team, because I know exactly how frustrating it can be to have issues come up at the last stage. Honestly given the crap they get for a free product, I wouldn't blame them if they just flat out refused to release a public product at all. At least I get paid to deal with this sort of crap, yet they put in a huge ammount of effort for minimal reward and still get bashed for it.
While this is about RTR (because it is the flavour of the month for bashing it seems), this goes for EB and every other mod around. Projects never run as smoothely as everyone would like them to, especially when your work force is comprised of volunteers, so stop giving them crap.

Well, in case my post was misleading I don't have anything against the RTR mod and feel the work done on it is fine and greatly improving over vanilla.
My only gripe would be with their attitude, but I already said my piece on that. I'm just clarifying in case I lead anyone to believe I have a problem with the mod itself, which I don't. :bow:

There is not any single serious, un-solved problem keeping RTR 6 from being released. It's more like a lot of minor things that needed to be sorted out and various reworks. The real deadline was missed a week ago when I pretty much ran out of time to work on it due to pressing personal matters, but people have still been improving various aspects of the game right up until today. Unfortunately the quality of various team members work is not uniform and it has been overwhealming to try and assemble and test quickly.
It was delayed on my request and it was the right call; I'd rather miss some artifical "release date" than risk releasing something buggy or less polished than what we're capable of doing.
It won't be long, though. Probably not more than a week.
Oh, and khlevan, I realize you're trying to get in a jab anywhere you can, but your spelling is absolutely bestial. Just a heads up. ~;)

Edit: Pithy response removed. I'll merely ask you to go back to your own forum where you can bash EB to your heart's content, and leave us to our own forum without RTR members here. We really do try to keep the troubles out of this area, but your presence poses a problem.
If I posted in response every time EB was bashed in your forum, I would be spending all day there. Since any RTR "bashing" is curbed by EB members here, your presence is not required.

At least these delay problems with RTR might show some of the critics of the lack of EB open beta why the EB team hasn't set a fixed a release date. It really does only get false hopes up if the date isn't correct.

Never has any EB member, to my knowledge, ever done any of the things you have spoken about. In fact, I can't ever recall half of them actually happening, even during the episode where RTR played the martyr for attacking EB. If Spartan was involved in the whole Hexagon thing he did so as a Hexagon member, not an EB member, and without the participation of, or knowledge of, any EB member that I know of.
The only time that I know of where anyone asked Spartan to take action as a leader at TWC on behalf of EB was when Crandar deleted our April Fool's joke without even consulting us, much less asking us to take action in our own forum. For overstepping these bounds I asked Spartan to bring the matter up the chain, and he did so.
We may be welcome at the RTR forum, but the RTR forum is not welcoming. There is plenty of nonsense to be found there, what with making fun of our name, RTR members claiming that "EB is for non-historical 12 year olds," and a great number of other things which some masochistic EB members seem to find it interesting to read. We wouldn't go near your forum because of the way it is moderated, so we expect you to keep your vitriol there. It may be (and is) acceptable to take the attitude that a competing mod is fair game in your forum, but it is not in ours.
So yes, I will react when your passive-aggressive self arrives here and muddies up our nice little forum.

The current "EB" members are related to those roman soldiers. They plan on crushing mods of truth such as RTR, and then brain washing people with names like "Bugimánnōz" Which really mean stuff like "Bow down to your over lords!"
