Please, let me know what is the best way to kill phallanxes, cause they beat the s**t out of my city cohorts and arrows seem to make them laugh....... :help: :help:

Pin them with your infantry and then hit them in the back or rear with your cavalry or some spare infantry units? Seperate them from the rest of the army so they get their flanks or rears exposed!

Best way is artillery match them
second best is softening with arrows until they panic
3rd sandwich them
4th hit them in the rear
5th hit them in the side

The key would be to flank them, either with cavalry or (fast) missile units.

That's bad advice, although it can work due to game mechanics it's not the best way to do it.

First off the higher the denari the game is, the more powerful the phalanxes become compared to what you have.

Phalanxes are slow, so if it's a team game double team the other opponent. If his phalanxes leave phalanx formation try to rush in and beat them up and as soon as they go into phalanx retreat.

stick to games @ 10 k or under, 15k is acceptable but after that phalanxes start owning the game.
