As a Junior Member, I didn't know anyone and therefore didn't have any role models.

Anyway, you shouldn't have a role model, you should become a role model.

Not really any specific person, although all of the mods were quite helpful when I ran into them on occasion. Unofrtuantely I can't think of a specific non-moderator member who really helped me out, might just be my memory though.

Me, a role model? Cripes. I would have thought most newbs would run in terror, rather than look up to me. What signature made you laugh?

On the topic, i didn't have a role model. I didn't expect to be here long. But, here i am, over half a year, 1442 posts later, i'm still here.

Gawain of Orkeny. Helped me out in my baptism by fire (1st flame war on the org, it was a biggy, 50 posts for me, lol got me a warning too. And it all started over a smoking thread. I remember it well. JAG and Rory [he's no here no more] teamed up on me and...well...the rest is history)

Well, back in my days...

I just remember trying to start a politics thread in the Entrance Hall. It lasted surprisingly long! ~:)

My first post was in the Two Crowns mod thread, so my first role model might have been Duke John. I don't think I followed anyone very closely. When I made member (or senior patron... I think senior patrons had access to the backroom... I don't remember) I flamed all of Europe in my first backroom post. ~D Pape gave me a warning, and since it was fair and all I've kinda admired him.

My baptism of fire. ~D

Get out of here, JAG, you old fossil. ~D

But one does feel old when there's no senior patron status. It sounded so cool, and it was even cooler to get promoted to it! Way better than just, "member." Yawn. Even if it had better priviledges.

I spent almost all my junior days trying to start my mod, so I didnt really know to many names. If anybody though it would have to be Hoggy. Though he doesnt spend to much time on the forum he has done amazing work with Blue Lotus.

Last I checked I'm still a junior member, but my rolemodel would be many of the historians around here. I've learned so many interesting things about so many periods in history through these fora, which is one of the reasons I joined up.

Indeed, especially Greg...

but I must say my role model was Katank who I haven't seen in a while...His depth of knowledge of MTW is unparalleled among those I have ever known...Doug Thompson and a few others are also my role models...

I rarely hang out anywhere bar the tavern anymore (renounced gamer of sorts...) but msot of the people in the Tavern are worthy of respect as well...yes even Kapo (when he's not planning on world domination.) ~;)

katank - his strategy posts in the MTW Guides forum and his general grasp of tactics led me down a path to glory again and again. He isn't around as much now. He helped me fall in love with playing as the Turks and the Byz.

i fell in love with the byzantines the first time i played. i conquered half the world with them searching for a province that could build those ole fashioned byzantine infantry, not knowing i had to build a building. half the world was mine when those threacherous eggy's roled me up from the east.

When i first came to these forums my intrest was the Sengoku Jidai Mod.I was arguing on almost everything with Duke John and Tomte of Doom. While i was being rude and didnt almost ever give any evidence to back up my arguments, they were so nice not to put me on their ignore list but listened to my arguments and countered them with some proof. So i have to say i look at them as my rolemodels, and i have tryed to follow their example how to behave on these forums. While i havent succeeded in that always.

maybe a bit AdrianII, but I always tried to be myself.

right now: trying to spam as good as Emperor, trying to play MP as good as togakure, trying to be helpful as KukriKhan, trying to be enthusiast like Kagemusha, trying to be artistic like Quietus, trying to understand tech stuff like R'as al Ghul does, etc.

You all are great!

He helped me fall in love with playing as the Turks and the Byz. :bow:Seconded. I joined when M:TW was at its peak andKatank was the guy who got me interested in M:TW as a game, not just a fun attempt at a 3D recreation of Medieval warfare. His summary analyses and blitz-tactics were a joy to read and follow through on.
