How do you mount Woad Warriors? I've mucked around a bit in descr_model_battle or something like that. So far I've managed to get them sunk half way into the ground, and then to hold a spear while sunk half way into the ground. Is it possible to mount them on horses?
Ok....this is strange....they should not have spears, i have no idea how you gave woad warriors spears...considering your a newbie to modding (if you cant mount warriors), I'm guessing that you dont have 3ds to do this, so you used another war bands model to mount them....personally I think that a woad sword warrior is better... Anyway, to finish mounting them, you got most of this done, but they are stuck in the ground, and the game will CTD if you try to move them. What you need to do:
open your export_descr_units txt file, scroll down and find the woad warriors unit, or whatever new unit you were making, find a cavalry unit's descr, copy the "mount light horse "(or heavy horse or medium horse or cataphract horse) and the "mount_effect camel -4 elephant -8 "(or something like that) and paste it at the woad warriors descr (in the same place as the cavalry unit's) you can choose the horse type (light horse: [light and fast, sucks at charging] [medium horse: medium speed, not that great at charging] [heavy horse: not too fast, ok at charging] [cataphract horse: slow, uber charging, give the unit good defence too] [camel: slow, good vs horse, ok at charging] [cataphract camel: slow, good vs horse, good at charging, good vs horse] of course, you will need to mod in all these special feature) not all horses have the briton skin (blue back) i think only light horse, maybe medium, maybe heavy horse. Save the file...I think i forgot something, but that's all I can think of right now, tell me if it works. ~;)

There is a guide on it, its called Dismouting units, but you do the reverse to mount them.

After some mucking about in descr_mod_battle or whatever it is, I came up with the strangest results ever
The Woad Warriors are mounted, and dont crash the game. However, they carry a spear and a large square shield that looks like its made of leather. Their faces are blue and they dont have eyes or anything. They wear the Chosen Swordsmen helmet thing at the back of their heads, but their foreheads are white. Also, they are wearing robe things. I'll try and send you a screenshot.

Did you match the right skin with the right model. There are alot of extra skins in there and you have to make sure you are using the right one.
Can you upload it? This sounds most...disturbing, I've never have this happening, I think it's the model/UV map.

I'm still trying to upload it. BTW, I forgot to mention the Chosen swordsmen style shield covers the front of the soldiers as if it were clothing, and they fight with their spears as if they were swords.
I thought you were making mounted woads? I think you gave the chosen swordsmen skin to a warband's model, and with the fs_fast_swordsmen (or fs_hc_swordsmen) animation. Change the animation to fs_hc_spearmen for a mounted spear warrior, change the skin, i still suggest making a mounted woad, not a mount chosen/warband.

Trust me, I didn't change anything to do with Chosen Swordsmen. I added some Barb Cav stuff to Woad warriors and got the strange result. I'm still trying to upload an image.

If I cant get an image uploaded, you could try and get the units on your computer. Heres what I typed into your descr_models_battle (I think thats what it is):

first of all, get rid of these lines:
model_flexi data/models_unit/unit_barb_warband_cavalry_high.cas, 8
model_flexi data/models_unit/unit_barb_warband_cavalry_med.cas, 15
model_flexi data/models_unit/unit_barb_warband_cavalry_low.cas, 30
and replace them with:
model_flexi data/models_unit/unit_barb_woad_warrior_high.cas, 15
model_flexi data/models_unit/unit_barb_woad_warrior_high.cas, 30
The problem your having is that the texture you've used does not match with the model. You should be using this texture: unit_barb_warband_briton_woad.tga, not unit_barb_warguard_gaul. If you want to make a gallic version, create a new texture based on that one.
