So close and yet so far

As an Asian military history buff, I have loved STG/MI. Still, my real interest lies with China, and so I was hoping there was a way to make a more Chinese-style army under the "Custom Battles."

Is there a way to allow choices from all units, regardless of country? That way crossbows, light cavalry, guardsmen, archers, bombers and musketeers could all fight together, making a sort of Qing dynasty army. Other combinations could be used to get close to Tang and Song forces.

No-one has tried it yet, but iam sure it is possible.

But only as a historical battle or campaign no doubt.

A very interesting thing if you had the shogun codes would be to adapt it so that China was the map, re-name all the provinces and put them in the right places in China and then see where you are left.

But you need the Codes for that and only CA have them.

I have been trying different ways of inputting the Chinese characters, but none of the coding seems to work. :-( Thats the editing.

It is possible if you do it with a Historical Battle or Historical Campaign, infact come to mention it I was actually at one point making a Chinese Historical Campaign, based on the Romance of the three Kingdoms (You know Liu Bei-shu, Cao Cao-Wei and Sun Quan or Jian-Wu)

HongSong-- it is entirely possible. You wouldn't be able to get the current units in the game to all fight together.. but you could, to an extent, modify the current units in their current nationalities to be Chinese units.

The files you're going to want to look at are TroopStats.txt and Projectiles.txt. Knock yourself out.
