Before anyone decides to start a mod, especially total conversions, please refer to this sheet (originally posted by wlesmana at SCC):
========================
(E-Z reply sheet V1.0)
Dear
[ ] Newblet Modder
[ ] Clueless Modder
[ ] Persistent Modder
[ ] Leader To Be
[ ] Seasoned Modder
your proposal is flawed because
[ ] You clearly haven't planned your mod at all
[ ] You lack any modding skill
[ ] You're more concerned at being leader than gaining skills to mod
[ ] Your idea doesn't work with the game's engine
[ ] Someone else already did that and failed
[ ] Someone else already did that it's going great and far
[ ] Your team consists of people who doesn't know anything about modding
[ ] You got more signature than sample graphics
[ ] You are more concerned at getting attention than gettng the work done
[ ] You're simply clueless
[ ] You just want to feel special because you are "in a mod team"
Your mod is
[ ] Destined to die a stillborn
[ ] Not going to get any modeler and/or skinner
[ ] Doomed as you are likely to pack up and run away
[ ] Not going to progress anytime in the next decade
[ ] Too ambitious, thus will never be finished before the next Total War comes out
I suggest you
[ ] Learn to mod yourself first
[ ] Make a definite and clear plan first
[ ] Trim down the scope of your mod and start small
[ ] Show some screenshots
[ ] Show the community you know what you're doing and not spouting random ideas
[ ] Show some sample or incentive that you're really dedicated to do this mod and not just a spur of the moment because it sounded cool and you don't even grasp how much work it's going to be
