The faction limitation is 20 !!! :embarassed: :embarassed: :embarassed:
It's 17? I thought it was 18? Oh well, It's probally because of the "unifined rome" in order to achieve that, some factions (brutii and scipii and prehaps senate if there are only 17 factions) have to be destroyed. Leaving Julli which is now ROME. :charge:
You can leave the other ROman factions in, but, rom what I understand, you can't stop them sharing map information etc. There may also be some issues around diplomacy etc. as well. I haven't really explored it!

The shared view and other hardcoded issues with the Roman factions make their use trickier. 7.0 is planned to have 19 or 20 factions if possible.

I thought 7.0 was only going to be for BI?

About the roman issue, even if the map info must be shared, cant the alliance be broken with the diplomacy section if the senate is gone from the game?

I believe it can be, but I think I read that the factions have to start at war. Being neutral won't cut the mustard.
But, again, this has proved to be a thorny area so maybe there was a reason that didn't work.

Well I suppose they could use them as factions which were at war
