i think there is a few 03 boys hanging around still, anyone before that is fairly rare.
i liked it better back in 03, there were lots of cool guys around.
thanks,

January '03 for me.

I agree with you, Dessa, '03 was a good time. It's a laugh going back to the 'Welcome. Newbies!' threads from that time and seeing some of what are now some of our best established members first posts.

I remember I came here after I saw a MTW preview in PC gamer.

oh the good old days, i have a feeling the org has got very boring with all its new members, and all the good members of old have left.
funny thing though, people like crazed rabbit and Byzantine prince, i can't remember them.
i remember all the greats and many of the smalls.
thanks,
dizzy

I started in 2000. Note the 2005...doh. Anyway, I was having lots of problems getting STW to run so I had to have Erado San's help. It worked...but then I lost my old account. So I started this one up.

I joined in August 2000 as I recall, about a month or so after the release of STW. Very shortly after that, they had severe problems with the board and it was down for a few weeks (a month?). When it came back in its new incarnation, all the accounts were reinitialized with an October 2000 date. Well, at least that is how I remember it sonny. ~:)

I seem to remember first encountering the org when I started playing STW online, at the end of 2000 - around Nov and Dec time. I only joined the forum however in April 2001, as the date under my name shall tell you.

It was all good and it is good to see you Shiro.

May, 2003. Probably the day after I loaded up the M:TW demo out of my PCGamer mag and went looking for the demo mod to play Agincourt.

Great stuff.

Starte posting in mid-2004 when I had stuff to contribute for M:TW modding.

'02 '02!!!! Yeah...I liked the Org better back in the "good old days". With all of the new members, the personality seems to have diluted. The Frontroom especially. Gone are all the "high quality" spam threads. I still remember the Kikkoman thread and the ensuing sig crackdown *points at Rob* fondly.

Joined in 2002, after playing the MTW demo. Jumped straight in more or less. Still drop in here now or then but not as often as I used to. I also liked the Org better in the old days. ~:handball:

03 was the golden year of the community here, must admit i did most of my posting then, come RTW it seems to be filled with more people but less personality

hey, an idea, lets make an old hacks room, dedicated to all those who joined 03 or before, make it and exclusive gentlmens club, where all can read, but only a few can post, let them see what quality we had back in the day

Like it says to the left of me, August 2002 just before MTW was released. I guess that makes me an oldie ~:) Lurked for a while before joining, used to hear "the org" being talked about all the time on .com, had the rep of being the place where the more mature, intelligent TWers hung out, and that rep was spot on.

If 2003 was the year that all the PBEMs kicked off then I agree it was a great year. Undoubtedly my happiest time at the Org with the likes of Monk, The Emperor, Simon Appleton, Alrowan, Seljik Sinan et al participating in some great games and some superb writing. Happy days ~:grouphug:

I also back Alrowans "oldie" forum, if only so we can go all Victor Meldrew and moan about the RTW noobies with their post-count obsessions and spamming

Not sure how correct that is Gregoshi, I seem to remember Magyar Khan as April 1999.
Though I bought STW on its release I did not have internet access before 2002. I joined .Org a few months later

Yes, but shortly after i joined, GAH! seemed to reach an all time high, and then dissapeared altogether from here, although recently i've spotted it in the occasional poll.
