Any of you guys that know me well have heard me preach how nice the Isle of Man is and how there is no street crime whatsoever, this all changed yesterday when my brother was beaten bloody by a bunch of chavs.
He was walking with his girlfriend past a shopping centre when this chav stopped and asked him for a ciggarette, he said no, and the chav walked off but came back again with his friend and they started mouthing off at my bro. the guy that started this spat at my brother and then brought his leg up to kick him in the face, my bro then proceeded to smack him in the temple (a legacy of us growing up in the air force, we got into fights ALL the time) knocking him out. The Second chav called three of his friends over and then walked to my brother to swing a punch, it missed him and hit is girlfriend, knocking her to the floor. Now my bro (normally a very quiet lad) went absolutly mental on this guy, eventually making him need stiches. But the other three chavs came in and beat him to trhe ground, and kicked his head in. The manager of the hairdressers opposite cought it all on CCTV then proceeded to smash one of them nearly through a window. My bro has concussion and the five chavs (who got into a car, were chased by police then crashed the car, drunk as cross-eyed stoats) got put into custody for Actual bodily harm, Drunk Driving, dangerous driving and running from the police.
I just want to bring this to your attention and say, if you see a mugging or an assault, please phone the police and then smakc the bastards to oblivion i am in a VERY anti-Chav mood right now.

I was told Chav is a police term in the UK adopted by the masses meaning "Council house and violent."

It means a drunken thug basically.

Sorry to here about your brother. Heres hoping for a speedy recovery.

Im sorry to hear that ian, I hope your brother is alright. In my area some guys are fed up with chavs and neds and are actually going around beating them up, although the problem in my area is light compared to others.

Sorry to hear that Ian. I hope your brother is ok.

Chav= Ever see those guys in the street who were track suit bottoms, fake gold chains, those really ugly nike hats and hang around in large groups of other guys like them. That's a chav for you. Chavs are aggressive people who should not be antagonized and it is advised if you get a group of chavs after you to run. However there short capacity to think and there utter stupidity can often be taken advantage of.Most are anti social by nature and very aggressive they more often than not never amount to anything. Most people out side the UK will probably never encounter a Chav as it is a rare site out of the UK.

That was very sorry to hear indeed. That`s very unlikely to happen where I live so it`s unfamiliar to me. Although there have been incidents like one guy who has threatened to kill and eat all the people that was in a 'pub', but he`s lonely.

bah the scum, people like that are fools altogether very weak but in force are to be reconed with. simply hunt them down one a time, stones from afar to draw them in then surround him give him the message of "bother me again and you will suffer" and let him go no hamr done. works like a charm i'm tellin you.

well this proves again that this world has some very very stupid people in it..
great to hear that your brother toke down at least 2 of 'em serves them right. as MOP said scum like that are only good in numbers ...weaklings as they are.

However I'm disturbed at the fact that nobody helped your bro when he was kicked by those 3 guy's and his gf when she was punched down , it was in a shopping center and could not have gone unnoticed people should have called the police and at least try to help , it's what I would have done.

well I hope you're brother and his gf are doing all right.

PS : Tibilicus ; you have Chavs all over the world just, under different names ~;)

Well The Manager of the Hairdressers did get one of them as they ran away....but this was at 8 o clock, most people wer either at home or in the pub.
BTW my bro is ok, bruises everywhere and he has mild concussion but he will be alright in a week or two, thanks for your kind words of support ~

p.s the Thing that surprised me is that it happened at all here, we hardly ever get attacks on people, maybe the world HAS gone mad...

No violence here really. Occasional bar fight between natives and tourists (although extremely infrequent, maybe heard of one or two while I've been here). After all there is no place to go, the Police WILL catch you.

Please give my regards to your brother, these Thugs will be paying a well deserved price. May Justice prevail.

My dad got involved in a mugging outside his shop not long back, a happy and calm bloke but with a keen and trained in the martial arts, he saw a chav break away from his group of animals and pounce on a young lad walking home from school, my dad ran over, swept the Chav legs out and gave him a smack and threatened to tear his throat out if any off the others got involved, minutes later cars pulled up all seeing the situation with the chavs scattering only to come back later and throw a brick threw my dads window. Real brave men eh? ~:handball:

I hate chavs. i hate there packs crowding are streets and they would only attack you if the have the numbers. I always carry a tool around with me when i'm going from Birmingham to Manchester just incase and knowing that i would take down at least one before the rest jumped me.

The reason why people don't help is they would rather keep the head down and ignore it mate, alot of people have cowardly traits. I hope your brother recovers quickly and bumps into one of the wankers alone and give a beating the good old British way as shown below:

this thread is the first time i've ever heard of chavs although it appears they are a big problem in a certain part of the world

so i wonder...why? why are chavs allowed to exist? why don't the police dismantle the chavs?

surely there must have been chav groups who tried to form in other countries yet the police there put the smackdown on them before they could establish a presence

why not do that in the UK?

Proof that people will do violence, guns or not. :book:

Huh...Sure, but with guns, Ian's brother would probably have ended shot.

I feel sorry for your brother. This kind of things happen on a daily basis in France. A friend of mine got beaten by 4 people and ended in the hospital just because he refused to give them a cigarette.

From my understanding, chav is just the british term for braindead young people who spend their time drinking beer, watching football, having drugs, and who enjoy attacking defensless people just for the fun of it.
This kind of people exist in every single western country.

Navaros:
chavs aren't an organized group, more a lifestyle for hopeless scum.
The police couldn't really do anything to people for being chavs.

Sorry to hear about that Ian.

yeh, the worst thing is i have just found out it may have been organised.
Apparently the guys were seen talking to a bloke who used to go to my school, he was a right d**k and he hated my brother (probably cos my bro was better thatn him at school) he regulaly tried to start on me but my friends got in the way of that. Anyway these chavs were seen telling this guy, after the attack, "We Got 'im" so does that sound like it was organised or what?

Sorry to hear that!

Man, i live in that violent, raging, gun toting, racist land known as America and Ive never been concerned about this type of thing over here. Sure the blacks and mexicans fight a lot, most of the time with guns and other weapons, but they leave the rest of us alone..

I hope your brother gets better! From what you posted, it does sound like it might have been organized.

Huh...Sure, but with guns, Ian's brother would probably have ended shot.

Probably not. Assuming he had a gun, of course. In the US, you are less likely to get hurt in an atempted assualt if you have a gun.

A question for our British folks; I hear that the gov't provides housing and welfare to bums such as these. Is that true? If so, it would seem to enable them to do nothing all day but hang around and bother people.

And another Q; is it legal to own swords in Britain? If so, is it legal to walk around with them? I very much doubt it, but thought I'd ask.

crazed rabbit:
yes, they can get welfare, I imagine many chavs do actually work in some capacity though. If you are honest about receiving welfare it is time consuming, frustrating and doesn't allow you much money to do anything. You can also lie and get it (I know a few people who do this/have done this).

It's illegal to walk around with blades bigger than a matchstick (I joke, but seriously, I don't know if it's legal to carry any blade unless you have a good reason).

Dutch_guy
08-04-2005, 18:18
well in Holland you can't carry blades larger than the palm of your hand.
Maybe it's the same in England ?

I think folding, non-locking penknives with blades under 3" are all you can carry legally, unless you're a chef transporting cooking knives to work or something.

You wouldn't be able to fight with a non-locking folder, you'd just chop your own fingers off.

But in the U.S. it allows the criminals to kill the criminals leaving less criminals to kill the innocent. So all in all his brother would have less likely ran into some thugs, chavs
