So, when is BI going to be released and what is the price?!
In the UK , expected release ...31st August, price £26.99 on amazon.co.uk
According to my pre-order information.
Jochi
According to my pre-order information it`s 30th September; according to SEGA, just September.
Have no clue about price though
play.com has it up at £17.99 (RRP £19.99)
Was just looking at games website and they have it listed at £24.99 which is £5 over the RRP.Its ok tho they are giving you double reward points out of the goodness of there hearts.
After viewing a few of there games prices only a few select games have the RRP displyaed .
BI dose not have the RRP displayed for some reaosn hmm...
well on play.com it is £17.99 and out on 7th october.
But im sure it will be out befire that!
Every site i go on to has a different release date.
Try a kelkoo search.

$35?!? ~ ~
No way... not a chance! Not only am I going to sit on the fence until other's have had a chance to give BI a thorough going over but even if the expansion has been proven to dramatically improve on the original in terms of gameplay and AI I'm not going anywhere near it until the price drops to $25 or less and major mods like RTR have been successfully migrated over to it.
Heh, full price expansions. Just like Doom's highly successful expansion too...
Anyone actually buy that?
well i wood pay up to £20 for BI, but i want to know when it is coming out!

when i went on play.com it said 26trh october, but it also said release dates subject to change so...
well there is a review in next PCgamer, out on 1st September. that will have the release date!
They might review the game in a pre-release form, or as soon as it goes gold. Either way, it will perhaps be around the end of September before BI makes it to the shelves (virtual and physical).
I don't see any need to rush or be overly eager to get it released too soon. Its best CA gets as much time to work on it as possible in order to iron out all the issue. The demo is still in a very pre-release state and hopefully CA intends to greatly improve on polishing the final release. Lets hope the patching policy has also improved with the take over of SEGA.

If the expansion adds on greatly, I dont mind paying an extra 10 or 15 dollars. Just like Hordes of the Underdark with Neverwinter Nights... the expansion was so good, I would have willingly shelled out a lot of money just to get it. Only time can tell if BI is worth the price.
Hi guys , a bit off topi but..
I sent an eamil to game about the price just out of curiocity and got a reply as folows,
"Thanks for your mail. I’ve checked with Sega and the game does have an RRP of 24.99 so the site is correct, we give double reward points on all software pre-orders as a bonus to reward card holders. I’ve checked Amazon and they have it listed for 26.99 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009RF7V6/qid=1123591646/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-8957454-9763054) "
Indded amazon dose have it listed at £26.99 and they are displying a RRP of £29.99.
Play.com have it listed at £17.99 and a RRP of £19.99
Dose any one know how the differing company can have diffrent RRP.It would seem to me that there should only be one official RRP or am I wrong ?

i'm told that for Australia, BI will be released October 1st, at about $50 AUD
The later, the better.
CA should have as many time as possible to make the game perfect.
I don't want to see BI released rushed and half-completed like RTW.

I'm getting it despite the price. RTW is within striking range of greatness — which makes the flaws that much harder to take, as I've argued before. I'm hoping BI fixes many of the problems.
(My pre-order will be in Sept. 28, or so I was told. They told me the price was $30, but I'm confused over whether that includes my $5 deposit or not.)
Top 10 reasons I'm getting the game, and risking getting laughed at by the rest of you:
10. "Barbarian Invasion" should be much more balanced. Killing Gauls is repetitive and boring.
9. The diplomacy game should be better — because there's more options. Whether the flaws in the diplomacy system are fixed or not, there's some point to playing the factions off against each other now rather than just wiping out the ones you can reach and sharing trade rights and map information with everybody else.
8. There are limited historical strategy gaming options. Sure, there's Paradox Games' recent entries into both the medieval era and WWII, plus at least one other high-quality medieval strategy game released, but I still don't see anything that has the strategy/tactics mix of the Total War series, nor a game design with such potential.
7. None of the unit previews look too blazingly stupid. OK, the Christian priests look like they just walked out of a Dracula movie, but there's no chariots, apparently. The Saxon Axeman, who looks like a MTW Viking, looks promising, even.
6. CA has to have figured out by now that we are not an easy-to-please fan base. They can't draw more mainstream customers — which is obviously what they want — if all the forums talk about is how bad R:TW is compared to M:TW. The displeasure of the fan base even made the press. Look at the latest Q & A with Gamespot. CA knows it should do something to placate us.
5. There are still serious flaws in R:TW. BI may fix them. If BI doesn't fix them, somebody's got to gripe.
4. The latest Nvida drivers won't work with M:TW. I can't go back unless I use my daughter's computer.
3. "Barbarian Invasion" is more of a game than an expansion. "Viking Invasion" was a minigame compared to M:TW, with simplistic units few real options. BI looks much more like a full-blown game, with a strategic situation very much different than R:TW.
2. Somebody's got to try this thing and tell everybody else if it's any good.
1. How can anybody who loves cavalry archers as much as I do NOT buy a game with the Huns?

If it's any help to you I am using Nvidia FX5200 with driver 66.93

What I find strange (so far) is that the game is listed at $30 at amazon USA but 15 pounds (~$20) at amazon UK. Something is wrong somewhere.

At play.com £14.99 as well.
At least that is a reasonable price to pay for the add-on ~;)

just so you know £15 is ~$28
£14.99 is very reasonable in my eyes. Also 30th September is the date everywhere. ~:)

It makes sense then, I'm behind the times in terms of currency conversion.

PCGamer has it at 20 uk sterling which works out around 30 euros for me in Ireland. They also state that it will be on general release on Oct 7th.My buddy who owns a games store tells me he will place the game in my unbelieving hands on the 29th of sept. This is the same guy who left me waiting an extra week for RTW in the beginning.Friends................ ~

Well I'm glad they aren't making players in the USA buy the whole game again the way they did with the Mongol Invasion add-on to Shogun Total War. Remember that one? STW had cost $30 usd and MI was $15 usd, but you couldn't buy MI here. In the USA, the only thing you could buy was the Warlord Edition for $40 which contained STW + MI.

And in C.I.S most full games sold at around 10 bucks. This is partitioning according to purchasing power and piracy rating.

If that's the case, then why aren't they doing the same thing with BI or just double the price of BI in the USA?
