Regarding all the downloads and patches of rome total war

Well, I've just found a site called "twcenter.net" and I've found there are stuffs to download. I know there was "patch 1.2" to download but other than that I didn't know any. Also there was "totalrealism v. 6.0" I'm not sure exactly what is it but is this the latest one to download? Because in twcenter.com they have something called "totalrealism custom edition 3.2" I'm not sure if these 2 are the samethings or not and if its not which one do i have to download? I'm pretty new so please help me.
P.S. There was installation direction but I didn't understand when they said I should "Install Rome Total Realism 6.0 into your Rome Total War directory" I didn't quiet understand what this meant. Please help

Patch 1.2 is the official patch for RTW. RTR 6.0 (Rome Total Realism) is a modification of RTW, a big one at that. I don't have the time to explain the mod part considering because I have to go to bed. Need to work again tomorrow.

well patch1.2 is the most recent RTW patch, required for MP, and fixes a lot of stuff.

as for Rome Total Realism ( RTR ) version 6.0, visit the site at www.rometotalrealism.com
RTR is modifacation you should forget about the RTR custom edition for now, if you want this modification just DL the real RTR via the RTR link I just gave you.

The Directory is were all your stuff for RTW is located on your PC
if you run windows do this :
click start, then click the button on the right of the panel below search ( I have the Dutch version of Windows XP so I don't know precisely what it's called in English )
when asked to enter something enter this :
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\

this is called your RTW directory, when installing you need to direct your installer to place the files in this location - it actually wants to do this automatically, so it's really easy ~:)

Well when i was trying to save it on "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\" I couldnt just save it there. I had to open some folder or replace it with something..any ideas?

If you enjoy bribing units you may want to avoid patch 1.2 since while it fixes many things it breaks diplomacy, making it prohibitively expensive to bribe.

dl the 1.2 patch to desktop and then run to install the patch.

if you want rtr 6.0 (reccomended if you find rtw easy/boring) then dl first 1.2 then rtr (to desktop), run the file, point to your installation directory, then mod preferences.txt as per website (http://www.rometotalrealism.com)
