Out of respect, let's wait at least until he's in the ground before we turn his death (and life) into a political issue, shall we?
Why ? He was a politician , how can it not be a political issue (see final sentance) .

Since there have been threads about the death of politicians (or even musicians ) where the title thread has been basically "f**k them I hope they rot in hell " then why should the thread about the ex-minister be any different ?
He did some good things , he did some not so good things .

Since the backroom covers (generally) current affairs rather than the game/s, then isn't it appropriate to write about it there ?

Or should there be an appropriate period of mourning before current affairs are discussed ?

I think typical protocol has been to have a mourning thread - usually the initial one - and one or more threads that deal with the pros and cons of his life.
