i'm thinking of making a fan website for a TV show

the main problems are i don't wanna get sued for Intellectual Property violations. or for people posting weird stuff on my site's forums

so i'm asking y'all: how do sites get proper legal disclaimers to cover themselves from all of that?

surely they do not all hire a lawyer with money out of their own pocket just to do that

what's the secret to making a good legal disclaimer for free?

thx

Will the posts just be in the forum? I would have thought that all you need to do is state that the views expressed here are not your own. However you can get free disclaimers online.

I would e-mail the TV show you're making the site about concerning the intellectual property violations-see what their policy is on posting screencaps, pics and such. I imagine they'd be pretty lenient, it's free publicity after all.
