I've been editing export_descr_buildings and text\export_buildings to allow the Eastern factions to build paved roads, and the Romans to build theatres. Unfortunately, the building browser icon and description scroll for the Roman theatre shows a barracks instead. Which files do I modify to get the right pictures? ~

Yeah, that barracks image is the default one - like the grey peasant for unit cards. Unpack your ui pak files to get hold of the right building image. Then you need to create a Data\UI\*culture\buildings or something or other (mimic the directory structure of the unpacked paks) and copy the images across from their original culture folders to the cultures you want to be able to use them.

Thanks for the reply, ER! ~

So, I unpack the files using Vercingetorix's extractor, right? Hi-ho, off to the downloads section...

Hmm... I already use Mod-Switcher and -show_err, I help out where I can, AND I can spell Vercingetorix... YAY! I'm on my way to becoming a cool modder! ~D

Yep, that worked perfectly! Carthage now has city plumbing (I looked it up and confirmed that Carthaginian houses often had private bathrooms with complicated plumbing), and cultured Romans can now go to the theatre.

Better still, a friend has given (yes, GIVEN) me a copy of Photoshop CS! No excuse now for not producing those Ptolemaic Egyptian troops once I've learned how to use the software - of course, that could take a while...
