What is "gah!" and when did it start?
Why does vanya start every one of his posts with it?

The origins of GAH date back long into when I was a Junior Patron, when this guy made a poll I think consisting only of GAH!!! and MEH!!! or something like that.

I have seen it in a few places outwith the .Org, also, but Gah isn't common English, i.e. one would probably not find it in the Oxford English Dictionary. It is probably a colloquial term, used in a certain area in the same way as argh, bah, and such things.
I have not seen this strange phenomenon at other forums...why only tw.org???

Nearly busted a gut when I first read this:

I was under the impression that it was either Vanya or Krasturak who coined the term "Gah!". They roleplay as barbarians here at the Org, and have been using the "GAH!" expletive since the original Shogun days.
I like using it because it feels good and sounds better than a swear word, while serving the same purpose. Problem is, I've been using it outside of the Org too, and people react to me as if I were a nut or something. I am, but still ... gah!

Additionally I remember that Vanya once explained that GAH! stands for "Great Annual Hunt", some kind of celebration of the Mongols. During this hunt, Heads are collected (Shogun gives you the number of killed enemies as "Heads taken") which are then made into Head-Soup, of course. (Or, so they say.) Which makes sense in connection to Barbarians and Shogun.
Before I signed in at the .Org I already lurked for months and I have the impression that GAH! is here since at least early 2002.

Word History:From the original Scandavian Gahaga, meaning "Oh Thor bring thunderous pain upon this wretch for stupidity/pagan belief/bad mead/goat that kicks." Gah, coming from the Norse (Northmen), it has come to mean (in the plural secondary person) No way! (In the California 3rd Person Singular(As in the Australian "Go-day fifth declension)). As such it has provided many gamers (link to gamers) with an abjurative inerative that generates a plural non-pulsed poll (of the statistical nature, see 'Polls') which indicates a level of indifference that provides a user with easy (moderator edit) but just as effective use of said, 5th article vote (see 'Hanging Chad')
