Just seen on the news. Greek aeroplane crashes en route to Larnaka from Prag. No survivors left.

Prayers, sympathies, a moment of silence, tears... Whatever we can give is necessary.

I know...

Most of the passengers were kids. The plane depressurized and they froze at 8000m up in the air. The Greeks sent 2 fighter planes. Imagine the pilots of the fighters, to see 150 people icicles.... And plus 3 dead pilots...

Very spooky.

Very tragic, indeed.

Please pay your respects here.

My sympathies to the families.

Damn, something must have been very wrong if the O2 masks didn't deploy. That would give the pilots enough time to get to a warmer altitude, I think.

Kinda hard you know...

It depressurized at 8000m and their froze almost immediately!!!!
At 8000m, from calculations(not mine!) it's -50 degrees Celsius.

Condolences of course, but how can you freeze almost instantly at -50 C? My teacher worked in the Yukon, and my dad in NWT at those temperatures...

You'll die within minutes, unless you got proper clothing. That's extremly cold.

But not instantly. And I bet they all had T-shirts and shorts?

-50 Celsius is -58 Fahrenheit, Very Cold but even manageable for awhile with a T-Shirt On. However, at that temprature a Plane is likely to depressurize, they suffocated to death, not froze.
