The bp8 fiiles are 'apparently' where stw/wemi stores the tileset,
(also used for font and text storage among other things)

I've had a quick scout around for info on this,
and it 'seems' to be a borland/pascal format?
(either that or it's a stereo amplifier- http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif )

I'm not even going to take a guess, perhaps it is similar to a library file?

I've got to sleep soon,
so if anyone can point us to a decoder, decompressor or decompiler for this format...

IMHO, It must not be a borland/pascal format.
I think it's another way to encode a image. But I can't find the regular procedure to decode the data. If you can use tools like soft-ice or something. It's more possible to see how the game decodes the bp8 files.
