i was just wondering if there would be any winged helms for the gauls in this mod?

personally I think that a winged helm would go well with a general.

There are many 'winged' helmets that the Celts employed; which manner do you mean? I won't reveal too much without being told I may, but I can say that we are finding a place among them for unique or interesting/rare helmets where they would be appropriate.

No. That one is from WW2 -notice the side badge.

BTW, only German and AH officers used the spike helmet in late WW1. Soldiers' one was similar to the WW2 helmets, at least after the first months of war. Spike helmets for soldiers were more common in early WW1, specially among Austrian-Hungarian troops.

Officers disliked it because marked them as gold prize for enemy snipers.

Ah, the pickelhaube. Classy or silly..I can't decide.

The pickelhaube is my favorite. Every time I go out for a stroll, I don my pickelhaube and Walther p38.

Oh, and please don't put wings on the Gaulish helmets. Even if it is realistic, it will look ridiculous.

well. i actually mean to stick that Kentucky fried chicken on pickhaube's pike...

i saw soem picture's of "barbarian" leaders with birds..and Valerio massimo Manfredi describes a meeting between Alexandros and such a bird-head..

for a leader helm it would be nice..but not a unit of 80 men ALL wearing birds on their heads..........

....................and another Bartix unit is born!

Do the Gauls get a special unit of really short, but really strong drugged up warriors with winged helmets?

Yes, but it wouldn't be much fun playing with the Gauls. You know, they have a little region that neither expands nor can be conquered.

Battles against Romans would be fun, with little barbarians spinning over themselves under a sparkling magic effect and making enemies fly in all directions... Wait... Where have I seen this?

Ah yes! It's the berserker from CA's BI! :laugh4:

I know there were many variations of winged helmets , its just many of them i think are very nice looking and look forwards to seeing them in the game.

and you answered my question about the apperence of these helms anyway i think =) =) =)

p.s. thankyou europa barbarorum team

it couldn't be really hard to expand, you'd only need one unit or so...

but instead of senate missions you should save the druid, get one of the magic potion ingerdients,....

that spinning move is one of the lamest things ive ever seen.

its like you run up to the enemy and just start disco dancing with fairy dust twinkling everywhere.

I'd really really really love to tell..but I'd have my nads handed back to me on a plate...so

The only thing I can tell you is that: If you're a student of history, you should be pretty happy with how things turn out. I can tell you that from a Celtic point of view, a great deal of research has gone into the Celts / Gauls. A lot of in-depth study of regionally diverse Halstatt and La Tene material culture / archeological evidence. Add to this hours upon hours of modelling ..and...
Having said that, some things wont be perfect, just because of game limitations that demand compromises, but they'll be as close a possible.
