What's the greatest military battle?!
The importance of it, not the number of soldiers.

Hmm. Waterloo? (Although some argue that Leipzig was more important) Marathon? Trafalgar? Hastings? Kursk? The battle where the monkeys with the bones beat the monkeys that didn't?
Hard to answer, there have been thousands of battles fought, and the ramifications of all of them are still being felt today.

I don't think you could narrow it down to just 1, since there are several that have an equally important impact on the course of history.
A top 5 or a top 10 list maybe...

A think the same. But i'll say, anyway, Troy.

The last battle between the Cro-Magnons and the Neanderthals at the forgotten site in the unnamed territory.
The most important battle for humanity ever :p

I'll admit this may be biased, but:

I'd be tempted to say Zama or some of the Sicilian battles in the first Punic war, since Rome losing would certainly have retarded their growth for some time to come, and may have changed the evolution of Europe completely.
I would say Stalingrad because after this battle the Russians gained the momentum they needed to keep pushing the Germans back.
Yorktown established America as country and they slowly grew into a super power as they are today.
