well here goes...

1. Reformat the education system so that the same thing is taught to everyone everywhere in the country and if some schools need more help teaching the kids then they get it. (I have plenty of suggestions for this :whip: )

2. Reform our judicial system and eliminate the red tape. It literally takes years to be captured tried and convicted and then the appeals… The punishment and reform system needs a tweak too. Much harsher penalties and less jail time. And those who can truly be reformed need to be given the opportunity.

3. I think the reallocation of defeated enemies assets should be practiced with more zeal. By the military (oil, wealth, etc.) and the police (drug dealers money, assets, etc.). Call it plunder if you like.

4. Larger military, sure it is strong now but we lack depth. “Our Boys” need a holiday and there is no one to replace them. Soldiers being gone for so long make them unhappy and their families back home real unhappy. To keep the people happy I think a shorter cycle time would go along way.

5. Strengthen our information network. It seems like the media knows more about our enemies than the gov. does. There is no way something like 911 should happen with an effective network of spies.

6. A flat tax should be in place. With no discounts to anyone for anything. Close off some of those offshore account tax loopholes too.

7. I also think that the Government should play a bigger role in “Big Picture” thinking and leave the "daily" stuff to the people. Limiting the power of big businesses, social security, environmental concerns, foreign policies (like why are we sending sooo much work to China when they are potentially our biggest military threat?), etc. I read too often how some politician has taken up some barley important crusade to save a “historic” house in a slum or to allow patrons to bring their own bottled water to the amusement park. I say focus your energy on the important things; anyone can protest the amusement park but how many people can really work towards fixing social security.

8. We should set up a system where people living in overpopulated areas are encouraged to move to areas that could take advantage of more people/larger workforce. Less people packed into a small area would lower crime in those areas.

9. Make voting more fair to productive members of society. Can only vote if you have graduated HS, you get an extra vote if you have a degree or were in the military, and an extra vote if you are a home owner, etc. and you cant vote if you owe back taxes or are a felon, etc. Just ideas, don’t know if they are the best but something to make a better citizens vote more important or to encourage being better informed about what is being voted on.

10. And finely the human mousetrap. As a society we have basically gotten rid of survival of the fittest and natural selection. We have no natural predators so the stupid, week and just plain durh can breed, we have an over population of durh and need to control it. I suggest we put into effect a human sized mouse trap that has a 20 dollar bill in it and consider anyone caught in it so durh that they shouldn’t be around to durh up the gene pool. (Just kidding, well sort of ~D )

Time I suppose.

For me the country (Britain) is stale and uninspired - still suffering post imperial blues I suppose. I think that ending the union would invigorate its component parts - all of them, but especially England. Give us back a sense of purpose.

Also the current British government has played a large part in changing my views. Scottish and Welsh parliaments...that's fine. What about England? No English parliament? This is not an oversight - it's a conspiracy. "Crazy Frog" Prescott's lunatic plans to carve up England too - thankfully the good old Geordies gave him a poke in the bulgey eye on that one. But don't be surprised if they try to find another way.

And the at the end of the day (and at the beginning) I'm English first, and proud of it. Ask any Scot or Welsh person...90% of them would call themselves Scottish or Welsh first and British second. The Englsh should get real, get up to date and start doing the same thing.

So whilst I still have enormous respect for the Union Flag, I'd only swear to the heart of it. Bring on the revolution, bring on the velvet divorce.

As for Holland, politicians with some backbone would be most welcome. A more effective legal system, without all this crap about 'I'm so sorry for killing this poor bloke for no reason outside a club' getting a lower term in prison. In general the bureaucracy of Holland, while being something of a cliché among Dutch political rhetoric, is of ridiculous proportions, and needs an extremely stringent overhaul. More willingness for various groups (Muslims being one example) to take part in the decision-making process, rather than claiming it's not their problem; the current administration isn't doing much to promote this, and is partially their fault. Less political apathy among the Dutch.

And most obviously, an end to this pathetic government of Balkenende. Please put it out of it's misery...

Re-introduction of corporal punishment for schools and misdemeanours. No more of this ASBO crap. Just give the little darlings a good hiding. Adults making these same crimes will be publicly flogged.
Have a Public Decency Act passed. All newspaper articles, books, plays, songs, and scripts must first be reviewed by the Office of the Lord Chamberlain prior to being transmitted to the public. Anything which contains obsceneties (I think BKS should be in charge of that ~;) ), glorification of crime or violence shall be censored. Public adverts with indecently dressed men and women will be censored.
