ye Kimbo Slice (teh guy who won the fight) lost to Gannon The Cannon a Pro 320lbs. fighter. Gannon took a SERIOUS beating to his face, but kimbo ran outta gas

So you use 'my buddy' in a fashion that noone else does, and then claim you deserve an apology when you're misunderstood?

If I just decided one day that 'asshat' actually means 'cool dude' and then went around at work calling my co-workers asshats, and then when they eventually got upset, claimed that they should apologize to me for misunderstanding my own personal definition for asshat, I would get laughed all the way to the unemployment office.

emm actually a lot of ppl call others they dont know in person buddies.....but either way, I never said I know the guy in person, and he verbaly assaulted me for pretty much no reason...and mind ur own business plz...

you do realize that you are in the backroom, right? all business is everyone's business back here. anyway, kimbo was badly outmatched in the fight with gannon. everyone jumped on the kimbo bandwagon after that fight with byrd circulated the mma forums and whatnot because he's badass looking with the 'bald+burns+beard' and he has a couple of great lines ("lemme get my bread" "that's how a nigga eat, man"). but as a fighter, he's lacking. in the gannon fight they had ridiculous rules favoring kimbo.. gannon can't complain because he agreed to the rules (although they changed them a bit in during the fight). besides, gannon won.

but kimbo, if he's actually interested in fighting, should look for a real gym and train with real mma fighters. he's not ridiculously huge, so he probably couldn't simply be promoted as a big freak (like bob sapp); he'd need to learn some things. k-1 would be an option with his boxing skills, but he'd probably just get leg-kicked until he couldn't walk in every fight. i don't think he'd rise above toughman level in boxing. mma makes more sense because he already has a sizeable fanbase (due to that fight video).

if kimbo learned some basic submission/takedown defense, he'd be pretty good with his striking and movement.

couldnt have said it beter myself man, Kimbo actually borke his own rule (cant hit opponent while on ground), Gannon was on the ground adn Kimbo punched him numerous times...when Gannon started winning Kimbo's crew jumped in...freaking ridicolous...mad props to Gannon for winning even tho the rules were in favor of Kimbo....

mma is obviously some sort of fighting but what are the rules? Is it just media rubbish or is there a governing body and championships and things? Why do people do it instead of boxing or wrestling, where there is money to be made?

I don't quite understand the need to try and injure other people unless they've done something really bad. I can understand punching a friend in the arm or something, but nothing serious...
But I'm only about 115 pounds, and 17, so it's the smart thing for me to do to try and stay away from fighting. ~D
edit: But I'd understand it if it was two guys jousting or fighting with broadswords...
