I bet it'll soon be closed. Because this thread is...
SPAM!
By the way, only wimps use shotguns. We real warriors understand the meaning of discipline, tactics, and the frenzy of a knight's charge :)

Is it just a knee jerk reaction when anyone hears something related to the south they have to associate it with us hiding our inadaquices with guns ~ This thread is made for talking about southern culture and how much better it is than yankee culture ~

Well Yankee Culture sucks - I much more prefer the Culture of the West - minus California big cities. Much more relaxed and full of fresh air. Bad thing about living in Texas - is I miss the Mountain of New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming.

Kaiser of Arabia here, to join the Army of Northern Virginia (my family comes from the great state of Virginia, well, the Irish side, so yeah, I think that justifies a VA membership rather than a SaH, or perhaps a NC, I used to live in Charolette)...so yeah.

Might actually be an interesting and fun thread - and so far I see no reason to close it. Just keep it fun and good spirited (i.e. don't turn it into a bash-feast of any kind).
BTW, it might be helpful not to call every thread that deals with groups of people a "club" as the Backroom has been flooded by this kind of threads recently and they are thus often perceived as spam threads by other patrons
NB: before anybody starts a discussion why some "clubs" are closed while others stay open - the decision depends on whether the forum rules are followed or not and whether there seems to be a genuine interest to discuss a topic (vs. just starting a "club" thread to counter another "club" thread)

Speaking of trucks, one of my friends recently had his Carmen Guia break down so he bought this truck over the internet. He Greyhounded down to Texas to meet with the seller, and then to a deer farm in southern Arkansas to pick it up..... he drove it back in the dead of night seeing as the muffler was in pieces in the bed of the truck...... it is raised up off the frame four inches by welded metal plumbing....... he changed out the mud tires for the regular tires, which are still so big around they throw the speedometer off by 10-15 mph when it his its max speed of about 55...... you can see the road through the floor where they cut it out to extend the shifters when they raised the truck, there's half a junkyard worth of scrapmetal laying around in the bed and even with the rebuilt muffler it is LOUD as hell.
And this fool is driving this monster proudly through genteel suburban West County St. Louis, with a licence plate taped up in the rust-tinged window. SO FUNNY. Now he calls and asks "wanna go off-roading on the Chaminade School campus?"

Great thread - how about a poll:

"When do we get the guns?!"
"We've told you sir, we're not giving you a gun until you tell us your name."
"I've had it up to here, with your rules!"
What does it take to be a "Redneck" - well it depends if you want to use the orginial meaning of the Term - or what it now means.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redneck
I prefer to think of using the term for what it orginially meant in the United States.
I wil gladly join the Carolina Brigade, North Carolina that is ~D .
Born, raised and still in N. Carolina ~ .

Id join the 'Southern at heart' brigade.
I believe there was a brit General fighting for the south in the civil war, I'll have to see what his command was. Maybe I can join that brigade?
Although Id think of myself more as a 'southern gent' (if anything) rather than a redneck.

Gah, yankeeland does my head in.
Put me down as a Southerner At Heart.
My favourite trucks are the old Ford pick-ups from the 40s and 50s, they're just so nice to look at and aren't full of decadent comfort features.

How many Virginians does it take to change a light bulb?
5
1 to change it, and 4 to sit on the porch and "jaw" about how wonderful the old light bulb was.
How many rednecks?
2
1 to shoot it out, and 1 electrician to re-wire and install a new one.
How many Texans?
6 -- but ya'll gotta remember just how BIG things are in Texas.
How many Yankees?
2 -- a carpet-bagger to steal it from some decent hard-working 'baman and some yankee to take the swag and install it.
The South WILL rise again! (Casue every 10 years they get more electoral votes!)

Do you guys like the blue collar boys I like them although they do show a few stereotypes its nothing i havent done or seen someone else do whssya you guys think?
I was born in Texas, grew up in Georgia, spent the summers of my youth in North Carolina, and now live in Virginia. My father's family is from South Carolina, my mother's family is from Texas. Does this make me a cosmopolitan redneck? ~D
At what point in this thread do we start discussing NASCAR drivers? That should start a good flame war :duel:
@ SFTS: The Blue Collar guys are pretty funny as comedians, but the show needs work. Bill Engvall has lost his edge, he moved to California and bringing up his kids softened him up. Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White have pretty good standup routines though.

You're right about engvall white is by far the best IMO and and good old #3 is the best ever hands down him or Yarborough or Trickle or...
