Apparently China has bullied ISPs and the like to place restictions on online gaming, cutting XP earned after playing more than the authorities want you to play in one day, even taking away health after too long.
Is limiting game time like this a good thing?

So? Does it effect Amerikans? Nope.
The move reflects fears about the social impact of popular “multiplayer online role-playing games” which have been blamed for encouraging sloth, truancy and even murder.

Isn't three hours a day enough ? Besides, you can still play if you want, you just don't get less experience.
While I wouldn't agree with such a measure in my country (or really any country considering itself a free democracy), it's hardly draconian.

A gaming-addicted woman and her toddler child went to the grocery store. When they got back home, the woman ran to her computer and booted up EverQuest. Six hours later, the child was found left in the car, dead from heat stroke. The woman forgot her own son in favor of a game.
Do you still think it's funny?

Evolution... those that care have grandkids, those that don't die attached to their habit be it crack or Evercrack...
