Hello all,

I'm a newbie here, although a long time user of Shogun:Total War. ~:)

I've been having problems since I re-installed the sim and was hoping someone here might have an answer.

When I play the full campaign, sometimes all my provinces will spontaneously revolt, for no reason. Even if I go back to the last auto-save, very often, after a few turns, the same result occurs. I keep my tax rates at the normal setting and never allow my population loyalty to go down. The provinces I am having the trouble with, are ones I've held for a long time and usually have loyalties in the 150-200 range (well above what should be a concern).

I have a working theory that the "bug" is set into motion by a specific event. In the most recent campaign, it appeared that whenever the computer run clan invaded Totomi, virtually very province of mine would subsequently revolt. When 3/4s of Japan suddenly and for no apparent reason decides to revolt, somethings got to be wrong. ~

Has anyone ever seen this kind of problem and do they have any suggestions? Should I uninstall then re-install?

Thanks Gents

Very odd... I don't really know enough to suggest a definate cause for this though perhaps it is a coding error brought on by another program on your comp, memory leakage, or a modification you've put in. Can't be sure though, I've never heard of it.

It almost sounds like in MTW where if you take 2/3rds of the map you get an infussion of massive revolts from formerly quite content provinces. I didn't think they had it in STW though.

Perhaps you just have to pump out far more shinobis than you normally do. Do you check the loyalty of the provinces as they revolt? Are they revolting despite reasonable contentment?

Being a long time player you probably know this but a possible non-bug cause might be that your Daimyo is at the fronts and too distant from some provinces on the other side of the realm. That hardly explains 3/4s of your provinces revolting though.

Welcome to the Org by the way! ~

Thanks NodachiSam,

That's exactly what's happening. It usually happens when I'm on the verge of winning with most of the provinces under control. By that time, the average loyalty is about 200. Yet, in one turn, the loyalty drops to 50-90 (the shift key will reveal every province to be red, instead of green) without any apparent reason.

I'm sure it's some kind of bug. :furious3:

BTW, thanx for the welcome ~;)

Welcome to the .org and welcome to sword dojo!

I think it's a bug, as you said. very annoying indeed.

my advice: go to www.totalwar.com and enter the shogun forum. (you need an ezboard account to post) ask for 'Maeda Toshii' and explain to him what's wrong. He knows very much about bugs and how to solve them.

I hope you solve it.

D.
