I have written before in other thread, and thought now to write in attacking Christianity thread, but start instead my own to be perfect on topic ~;)

If we discuss, we discuss with our human logics. God is by necessity beyond us in many ways, or we should not be discussing so much. :dizzy2: We can not even say how much of God, plans and logics of, is within reach of us!! ~ I must constantly take this into consideration. :book:

But. If we try to think like humans, which is hard avoiding, it seems many religions exist and not all can be correct at once. They seem to be contrary to each other. :balloon2:

Say we accept Christianity is correct, belief in True God, and Jesus his Son. I am here. Still, many "flavors", confessions, "heresies", historically even more now lost. Maybe by our logic can not all be right! Maybe only one? How do we know which one? ~

I think, by our human logic, much in Bible is not to be trusted, but maybe it still is by God in way I do not see? And must be trusted? It is shown, much of Old Testament is not what it claims, but later inventions. Things look like facts in Book, maybe more must be thought allegory, because not corresponding with history and sciences? Also selection of Bible books could be different, selections seems to be made by people, and because they ended up deciding they were right? I am not so sure, but how do I know? ~

It seems to me there was strife and rupture after time of Jesus to decide his legacy and message. I think maybe Main Stream Churches of today probably far from original Jesus cult in many many fashion!!!! Organization, of course, and messages also!! ~
But human life and culture change in many ways. Is it some times correct also for faith and practices of religion to adapt to change? ~

If we truly believe in the Jesus, maybe we must find True Core of Jesus, and not self serving things of Paul and mediaeval inventions of different things!!!
These were my thoughts, by my logix ~;) , but should I instead accept Dogma? Is received version by Catholic Church, maybe, Divine Truth beyond my understanding? ~ ~
Apostolic Succession is there, yes? Maybe transfer in that way somehow some authority on God and Jesus? :help:

Maybe I think too much. Should play more Total War? ~

Will I get reply in thread, or maybe direct message from special authority :embarassed:

Playing Total War seems a decent alternative to religion.

well for example Jawe,God and Allah are all the same gods so if we'd just say God is the only existing god then there are 3 religions true already.

then hindoïsm, Budism,... would be false but if you compare these with the others they have a lot in common too.

But if there really is a god, I dont thing he'll judge us based on if we go to church every sunday or if we never drunk beer (Wich I really hope so ~)
,...
The god would really be strange if he thinks a guy born in india which al his friends and people he know are budists go to church every Sunday without the guy eve knows what the ***** a church is?
I don't think he'll judge on that, no he'll judge you based on if you had respect for other people/animals/nature and stuff like that.

So it doesn't matter how many rituals you do all that is made up by people years ago, just live like you think that gods want you to live...

since nobody awsered seriously yet I tought I just say something.
hope it was a decent awnser.
sorry for bad English

Every society needs a power structure. People elect or believe in other people or deities. It makes things easier to handle. God, Jesus and all their friends in other religions are there to make the power structure more easy for the people to digest.
Example, it's important for US voters that Bush was in the Vietnam war. That makes him of higher moral and easier to accept as a war chief in the current volatile world. This despite his participation have absolutely no impact on his ability to be a president.
So bottom line, human always want to rise their leaders and heros to towers of moral and divinity, just to make life more easy to live and accept.

That's not true. I don't put anyone above me, and i certainly don't like anyone who believes that he's superior to the rest. In fact i detest them.
Well your statement is incorrect while i'm a human being, of course. ~;)

This appears clear from any historical analysis of organization and/or dogma. The 325 A.D. Council of Nicea itself is a perfect example.

But human life and culture change in many ways. Is it some times correct also for faith and practices of religion to adapt to change?

The answer to this depends on whether faith speaks to truth and what impact cultural change has on that truth.

Pindar, your reply is as much impossible to fault as it is not having visible practical value to my situation

I shall perhaps try rotation of one week reading information and next week pondering/meditation/prayer to see if clarity is forth coming. ~:handball:

There is one sure way of getting an answer; but it is rather final. And if the result isn't what you want, then there is no way to get a do-over. ~D

So if I reinforce your sense that Christian dogma and organization has changed that has no practical value?

If I suggest one consider the nature of truth claims in light of changing cultural mores that has no practical value either?

You asked for sober replies. I thought that was what I provided.

There are three major divisions within Christendom: Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant. There are also heterodox systems that claim to have restored the original church. Your sentiments seem to revolve around the claims of Catholicism.
