I'm pretty sure the limit is eight. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

is that limit handled by the exclusions and things or does it check against that number before allocating additional ancillaries?
The astute among you will have worked out I'm have some "erratic behaviour" after playing with some new ancillaries. :) Annoyingly the new ones have all appeared as I'd have expected at various times but the game has developed some seemingly ramdom and highly annoying CTDs.

If a general has eight ancillaries, no ancillaries can be transferred to him and triggers that would grant him ancillaries don't do anything.

thanks sim, greatly appreciated. at least I can rule out "too many ancillaries" as the cause of my problem.
