The Civilization Gaming Network is proud to announce the opening of the first democracy game (or oligame) of Rome Total War, a forum based game where we will follow the ambitions of a Roman family to the pinnacles of power in the Known World. It is short from the heights of Capitol to the Tarpeian Cliffs, and we are therefore seeking the ultimate challenge of running a Roman dynasty on its way up.

This will be set up as a Single Player game; version to be 1.2 and the difficulty level will be hard campaign with very hard battles. What sets this apart from your average run of the mill SP game is the fact we will be playing it as a team (faction or family if you prefer.) The leader will be elected and faction members will be played by team members who can control the destiny of their characters.

As this has never been done before (at least as far as RTW is concerned) we still have many details to work out before we begin; when and what to vote on, election procedures, choice of family, city governorship delegation system, just to name a few and we need a few more bodies/minds/team members to help work things out.

As you can tell from the name, the Civilization Gaming Network (http://www.civgaming.net/index.php) (CGN) is primarily dedicated to the Sid Meier series, Civilization and its spin off, Alpha Centauri. We have our experience with our democracy games for those games and we hope to be able to apply that to the Total War series of games as well. The experience and knowledge we gain from this first RTW Democracy Game will be available to all forums with an interest in the series and an interest in the idea of Democracy Games.

To sign up for the game click here (http://www.civgaming.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5538) or the link in my sig (forum registration is required.) If you have questions ask away and I will do my best to answer them.
