Has anyone got BOB2 yet? There seems to be a hell of a lot of problems with the European release by GMX, sadly their tech support is as good a a concrete parachute.

Yup, I bought it, and wished I had saved my cash, even if I did get it from Play.com at only £17.99. It runs with very low FPS on all machines including the latest systems and graphics cards. There are regular crashes to desktop with the now infamous 'BOB English text' windows error message. GMX shafted the UK and European customers by not shipping the much awaited paper manual, large sized map and large keycard. We had no manual (just a pdf) an unreadable keycard and a poorly printed small sized map. A campaign on the forums by UK/Europe customers to complain to GMX and get what they were promised was successful and GMX have now apologised and will send out paper manuals and large maps and keycards. They are currently working on a patch to get the FPS and crash problems fixed.
Graphically above the ground it does look very nice, great new 3d cockpits and exteriors for the flyables, superb weather and clouds (clouds are the best out there, way better than IL-2), great sounds with realistic engine sounds for the Merlins at last! Ground detail is very poor, more like early CFS down low, but is acceptable from up high.
The campaign, playable as UK or Germany, is the best out there with great depth and immersion. You can fly on any mission that arises during the strat map part of the campaign so it is effectively the same type of Gameplay as RTW with turn based strat and 3d battlefields. Great idea, just wish the flying element would work without crashes.
This could have been a truly superb product, but it is knobbled by all the technical glitches at the moment. For me it is currently unplayable and if the patch doesn't fix the crashes it will be heading off to Ebay.

Interrestingly, I remember playing BoB, which was a decent game actually.
