We beat the Norwegians and draw with Italy all in the same week.

We're going to the world cup. ~

Oh, and, unlucky England ~D No really, I mean it ~;)

England are in second place at the minute so they still qualify, but they got beat off of NI last night.

Yeah, fair play my scottish chum, after my remarks yesterday about scottish football I guess I deserved this. I daresay Shades will have something to add on the topic at some point.

But unlike some, cough australian cricket fans cough, I can admit the reason England were beaten was that they played badly.

Scotland played with passion and belief. England didn't. Sven has to go and bring in a manager who has passion and when a player is playing badly get him off, not keep him on due to how much money he makes or how well known he is.

Iif i ever see Hargreaves disgrace the England shirt again i'm going to cry :furious3:

Hey, I'll freely admit that you deserve the ashes this series - our batting has been pathetic and we don't deserve it. It's just blatantly wrong decisions really get to me (see the wicket of Katich). For the record I complain when Australia gets the decisions going for us as well - I've been accused of secretly supporting the English a number of times because I have dared to point out to an Australian that sometimes we have had stupid decisions go our way.

Australia has been outplayed this ashes series. Sad (for us Aussies), but true. It is good to see the poms finally playing competitive cricket after their looong stint in the gutter. I have been truly impressed by the heart they've shown this series. They REALLY want this series, and it reflects in their game.
Be nice to see the Aussies come back and put in a few decent performances to add a little spice to the battles.
But, its always good to see the English lose, at whatever sport they may be a part in. ~D
Let the games continue..... :duel:

Iffy umpiring decisions are a part of cricket, they are annoying, fair do's, but overall I think it all comes out in the wash. As someone else said to get a bad decision going your way you have to be making chances so it's not often a worse side will win because of bad decisions.

I'd rather win clearly, of course, just as I'd rather have a full five days play and take the series 3-1 (but risk an Ozzie escape) rather than lose a day to rain and play out a boring draw. Not that the lads seem to be playing for a draw this morning, very sensible too. Mind you I think Collingwood was a defensive selection.

Oh and BTW this is Richie Benaud's last test match as a commentator in the UK, a sad passing indeed. Richie is quite simply a god IMHO and a fine advertisment for Australia too.

I agree - I don't think there's anything sinister in it - it's just the horrendous ones that really get to me - especially after you hear umpires say they don't want to increase the use of video technology. If you don't want video technology, start gettign your bloody decisions right.
