View Full Version : The consolidation thread
Too many small threads all about the same thing! It would be simplier to have a couple of big threads which mixed it all together.
To make our moderators happy, this catchall thread is for all discussions relating to Katrina, the White House, terrorism, the Middle East and Intelligent Design. All rolled into one.
To get the topic started off right, here's a nice editorial cartoon which deftly ties together Intelligent Design and the White House:

And just so the Katrina and Middle East devotees won't feel left out we have a new cartoon by Tom Tomorrow:

Sigh.. yet another Bush-bashing thread. This one has reached a new level of maturity with the cartoons.. ~
This irrational hatred of Bush is truly pathetic. Just yesterday Aenlic dredged up a 40 year old accident to smear the first lady, not to mention his attacks on the 90+ year old former first lady. A real tough guy we got here.
Back in the day at least people used to post thought-provoking anti Bush stuff that was focused on policy decisions, these days all they can muster is petty little juvenile character attacks. Ive never been able to hate someone on such a personal level without ever meeting him. Get a life! :dizzy2:
One cannot provoke thoughts where thoughts don't grow. It's like peeing in the desert and expecting an oasis to bloom. ~;)

It's called Humour, man- lighten up! Then again, considering that you find Ann Coultier humorous... ~;)

Cartoons, eh? Are we abandoning deeper discussion of the issues in order to score a few quick points off a generalized, glossed over presentation of reality (at least in the case of such cartoons as Tom Tommorow- who has to make up stuff)?
Very Well.

Now we're cooking!
Here's a picture of the hurricane rescue effort you won't see on Fox. It shows Bush declaring his solidarity with the people of New Orleans:

Or there's always Ward Sutton if you don't like Tom Tomorrow or Steve Bell. Sutton is very good at lifelike depictions of Bush:

Broken link! Can't link direct, and can't link at all really.
Hmmm...
Well, it looks like I'll have to skip the Ward Sutton and go straight to the Wizard of Whimsy himself!

Wow. That impression makes me cringe- I shudder to think how the conservatives are reacting.

ha ha ha ha. Now THAT is funny.
I think THAT question was resolved in favour of quick points and generalisations long ago.
Anyway, unless its being used to persuade the UN that Iraq has WMD, its called satire and its at least 2000 years old.

Exactly! And I'm pretty sure that the dog and pony show that Powell did for the UN is called slapstick. Flushed his entire future political career down the toilet. Whoooosh!
