The good news is that it is up and running again after its unfortunate incident involving fireworks, which means i don't have to use my dads computer anymore. The bad news is that even though the Hard Drive survived intact and in perfect condition, everything, including backups has been completely erased. Two whole years worth of crap that i collected off the net, gone, gone forever!

Fireworks? With a PC? :uneasy:
Anyway, I feel your pain, one of my HDs got spontaneously a few years ago, a gigabyte of stuff gone with the wind, for no apparent reason.

Har har Gawain. The reason for fireworks being next to my PC was because the PC was already broken, for some reason over-heating to ridiculous temperatures, so i went to make myself a sandwich while i was trying to fix it, and unknowingly ended up knocking my box of fireworks into my computer. The next thing i know, i'm happily coming up stairs with a yummy cheese sandwich when there's a large explosion. The annoying thing was the 500 pounds (the pound symbol has stopped working for some reason) worht of damage. The even more annoying thing was the fact i had left a very expensive digital camcorder on top of it. What was even more annoying was the fact i had RTW in the CD Drive, and the CD drive was one of the few things that got a direct hit from firework.
