Well, I broke down today....
I'm using public transportation!!!
Yes, I've parked my SUV and will be taking the Metro to the City, then taking the bus. Yes, I am patting myself on the back for being such a great enviromental guiding light to all those around me...
plus gass prices are a mutha!!!
So there, live it up, I'm open to all critism from the left and the right, let me have, I need some abuse!!!
Spank me, I'm a naughty, naughty little con. ~D

Traitor! You shall be executed for admitting it with pride!
I've taken public transportation as well, don't feel too bad. But it must be in size 1 font. Also, as long as you do it for the right reasons, there is no reason we should hate you for it. But I must make a show of my loyalty.
I take public transport all the time. No other way into central London from here unless you have a hybrid car which doesn't get Congestion Charged...

Where do you live (and work for that matter) that you can take a bus? I'd have to walk 1.5 miles to catch the bus and another 1 mile to get from the bus stop to where I work. In both walks, I would have to cross a 6 lane 55mph highway. I WOULD take the bus if it was an option. I'm not opposed to mass transit, it just only runs where poor people are.

You dont find public transportation dirty? A public bus here is more greasy than a McDonald's kitchen.. :stunned:

Buses here are always rather clean, but I have to say I don't particularly like being charged 85p now that I am 16 instead of 35p...

The trains in Sydney on the whole are rather good.
The private buses are rather greasy... the public ones on the whole are nicer.

Here, or rather, where I used to live, we didn't have that problem. Most of the time the full size buses would have only 2-5 people on it (including the driver).

By not paying to buy gasoline and instead using public transport you are actually having a negative effect of bloodthirsty oil companies. You know the ones. The ones that polute 3rd world nations and cause their native people's to die of poisoning and cancer.
Busses are comparitevely dirtier but one can also take into acount the use of money as a dirty way of doing something. Also you shouldn't grab someone's hand because they might have not washed it thoroughly. There's millions of ways to get nasty germs on you. Most are not that bad.
Actually I would be more worried about all the nasty chamicals in the air inside the house that can cause all kinds of illnesses in the long run. Anything that has been painted on by chemicals will have a negative effect on your health.

Good man Dave. Taking public transport is a very positive thing to do. Put it this way, if the system you are using is any good, you can read books, play computer games on a laptop, gameboy or PSP, listen to music, talk to other commuters and sit back, relax and enjoy the ride instead of getting horribly stressed and developing road rage when you get cut off in heavy traffic! The money savings will be more than equaled by the quality of life improvments! And we are still only talking about how good this is for you! We havent even touched on how good it is environmentally and thus for your and everyone elses children! ~:)

So are the Norwegian Government , but thay are facing a bit of a dilema .
Do they spend the extra money on lowering taxes and increasing welfare spending , or......increasing welfare spending and lowering taxes .
I'm using public transportation!!!
One advantage with public transport is that you can have a pint or twenty and not have to worry about the car . ~

Well good job Dave. However, I hate public transport, since it is never close to me, and there are always wierd, smelly people around me. But it's still a good thing to do if possible. ~:grouphug:
I take the bus all the time. It's not so bad if you look scary all the time, really. And you can meet plenty of pretty and/or promiscuous women on the bus, if you're into that sort of thing.
The biggest problem surrounding taking the bus are swarmings. People get mugged at bus stations often enough. There was a big scandal about supposed racism in the police reports and all sorts of crap.
proving that conservatism and conservationism are totally compatible.
Way to go Dave, take a shower and drink a beer to help wind down.

Thank Odin Allfather for my 20/15 vision. ~D
Actually, grass does not really blur your vision- it just makes it more difficult for your brain to comprehend language. Ironically, one of my favorite activities when high is reading, especially philosophical books (and Charles Bukowski.)
Oh, and one little conservationist action won't hurt your record. Mellow out, man- you're still my enemy. ~

I'll probably just drink some water since most beer companies are capitalist corperations that pollute the air with there breweries while intoxicating the masses in order for the international corperate conglomerated governments to control the poor and using their blood and deaths to fill their pockets with blood and oil money.

Urbana-champaign has one of the best mass transit systems in the country. I generally walk around though, since I don't know the schedual.

Here is my slogan... "Save a Frog, eat a Frenchman!" ~DGee...a bit OT but, is there some sort of cultural rivalry with France in Russia? No offense - an honest, harmless, curious question. Or is it the anti-EU attitude in modern Russian culture, or even anti-liberalism?
Back to topic.
Las Vegas' public transportation outside the "strip" (what the Vegans called their entertainment district: the downtown) is very rare, though what it has is quite empty and clean, and therefore you'll be able to use it fairly comfortably if you're lucky to have one near you.
Unfortunately I don't.
Oh, and I don't [prepare for the ultimate horror] drink alcohol. It's unhealthy. ~D
