I get the distinct impression this is Tosa's version of TR's foreign policy:
Talk softly (Ser Clegnane & Papewaio)
and carry a big stick.... ~D

3 mods pah the backroom shall survive :charge:
Thanks all. I appreciate the condolences. This place is a long, long way from the safety of BKS's Kingdom of Peace and Love in the Frontroom.
I'll try not to interfere with the flow of things, but while here I do promise to wage a Holy War against swearing and enforce Ser Clegane's rules regarding bad language ruthlessly.
Now, where's my axe...

Do you need some guns, Beirut? The Backroom can be a very rough place...
Specifically, I have a "moderator-grade" flamethrower with your name on. Ask around the corner of 5th and Main for a guy named "Pablo" and maybe we can have ourselves a little talk...
~:smoking: :deal:
Beirut, aren't you obliged to use one of the assassin avatars now? How is anybody going to respect you if you don't look all ninja?

Well, he isn't a full mod yet. I am sure he will be sooner or later. Same with Ichi. Simon Appleton went full mod and he got his Ninja going.
Welcome Beirut. Have tolerance for my occasional drunken tirades. ~D

Welcome to the team, Brother Beirut.
I'm certainly glad to see the Backroom habitues have embraced you in their usual warm, accepting, charitable way. ~:grouphug:
Believe me, when in coming days they call you a biased, hard-headed, power-hungry, censorship-loving, word-parsing, bigot-nazi-thug...they mean it with much love, and in the kindest way possible.
p.s. Check your PM inbox - I'll show you the keys to the cattle prods, blackjacks, hoglegs, dictionaries & thesaurae you'll want to work here.

Hoglegs's?
Yank slang for old-timey pistols whose handgrips resembled the shape of a hog's leg. Good for a single shot (of large (half-inch or so)caliber, usually), then flipped over, held by the barrel, and used as a bludgeon in desperate close combat. Often issued to 1800's-era metro policemen on riot duty to 'take out' riot instigators, then beat back followers.
Nowadays used to describe any large-caliber revolver.
Alternatively: a large, cigar-sized marijuana cigarette.
Take your pick. :)
Those sound like so much fun...

Why is TosaInu san increasing the police presence here? There hasn't been any major problems lately?

Not really an 'increase'; Ser Clegane is away for a few days & Beirut kindly volunteered to fill in.
