i was wondering if there was any way to modify so that a fort or a watchtower might become a small income producing structure? :bow:

I imagine you can change the look of a fort or watchtower to whatever you want, however I don't know of any way by which you could make it income producing.

Well, you could make some money through a show me script that catches the event of abandoned fort. But you need to make a very good story about why abandoning a fort is generating income. For instance you may say you sell it ;)

on another note about these structures...can they 'see' enemy agents? and is this modable?

No, that is not possible to mod.
For your other idea you could use mines so that a fortification appears when you build the "mine" upgrade in the settlement. This building can generate income.
