Cricket a hot topic at UN summit (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,16613223-2,00.html)
"Just about every Prime Minister from cricket-playing nations had something to say about it," Mr Howard said.
"It was a principal area of discussion."
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf meanwhile promised to make amends.
"President Musharraf last night said Pakistan was playing England soon, and he would see that his team avenged Australia," Mr Howard said of the man who came to power in a military coup.
"It was all very good humoured and underlines the fact that it's been a wonderful series for the game, which is very important for all of us who love it so much."
So Pakistan might avenge the Ashes defeat... ah the joys of having all these former British colonies.
