ive seen this name around in a few books, and was wondering if 1 he really existed, and 2 any info on him if he did.

R'as al Ghul is one name of a star in the constellation Perseus. Variants of the name are Algol (spirit, ghoul, demon), Al-Ghul (spirit, ghoul, demon), or Ri'B al Ohill (the demons head). Specifically it's Beta Perseus the part of the constellation where the head of the Gorgon medusa hangs from Perseus's belt. These are all just Arabic names for it though. The Hebrews called it Rosh ha Sitan (Satan's head or Devil's head). The Chinese called it Tseih She (the Piled-up Corpses).
Mmmm... Nice star. Interesting that it would get so many unflattering names.

That is odd. Is the star red? That just seems strange to me that it has so many evil titles... it is just a star afterall.

I can see Arab and Hebrew names being simialar ie violent or whatever, but I wonder why the Chinese named it something simialar, anyone know what Chinese constellation it's part of, specifically if it's Beta Perseus, just under a different name?
