I'm considering building a mod that would play the units of Rome Total Realitu on the Magna Carta Map.

I'm currently playing Magna Carta, and I downloaded RTR. What are the files that I do not have to change in order to keep the big map?

I'm prepared to heavily edit the descr_strat.text file

Anyone did this before?

I think it will be hard if provinces are different, factions, etc. zor units can be a problem, since they're assigned to certain provinces. I thin you'll have to visit more than descr_strat.txt

What about :

1) installing Magna Carta

2) adding the units in RTR e_d_u to Magna Carta e_d_u

3) editind descr_strat to the new RTR units

Would it work?

No, you need to at least also replace the descr_model_battle file, the export_units file, the export_descr_buildings file and the export_buildings file (or edit edb to build the right units), and possibly more.

Perhaps it would be easier to insert the maps of Magna Carta as a provincial campaign in the RTR mod.
At first sight you should copy the whole folder of Magna Carta and edit there descr_strat and descr_mercenaries with the units of RTR.
You must also include the Magna_Carta_regions_and_settlements_bla_bla in the text folder.
The major problem will be the rebels. It would be necessary to include the new rebels in the corresponding files (descr_rebel_factions, or something like that), checking that all the rebel factions in Magna Carta are collected there.

Perhaps I didn't explain it very clearly, but I have not the game here. Sorry!
