View Full Version : concerned about BI

Typically, games that the devs know will be good are released early for review. E.g. most recently dragonshard and dungeon siege 2 had reviews up before the release date of the game (though these were both only "good" games, and not great ones). As in the move industry, if you know what you have is good, you want people to see it to drum u pinterest.

BI has no reviews up anywhere, though it has already been released. Now I've had very bad experiences with other games that refused to offer review copies early (and thus had a 1 week or so period where they were "review free"). Most recently, dungeon lords and stronghold 2.

Does it concern anyone that BI is lacking in reviews? What does this tell us about the devs' self-evaluation of their product?

No, not really.

Look at all the material CA gave to IGN. The slavish coverage puts fanboys to shame.

CA also gave hands-on preview time to Gamespot.

Does anybody expect IGN or Gamespot to give BI a bad review after these plums?

There are other examples.

CA's "handling" of the gaming press has been masterful, frankly.

The PC Gamer mag (UK edition) had a review of BI in their October edition (came out on September 1st). They gave it 91%.

From what I've read here (especially the stuff Kraxis has written) and on other boards, I'm eagerly awaiting BI regardless of what 'official' scores it gets.
