Beatles, definitely. Elvis ruined more good blues songs than the Rolling Stones. The Beatles, on the other hand, did "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." Period.

I must say, though, that I perfer the Byrds; they do similar music to the Beatles, but they do songs that are more like the Beatles songs I prefer- i.e. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "For the Benifit of Mr. Kite." (Comparable to "Wasn't Born to Follow", for example.)

Beatles. Elvis never did anything for me, he couldn't play guitar that well and he wasn't a good writer. On the other hand, the Beatles were the best. Period.

Beatles generally used to be compared against Rolling Stones..Interesting..

Whatever..I can not put both on the same track so I can not compare them.. I like them both..

I loved the Byrds. They were the second concert I ever saw. The first being the Beatles at Shea. It was at Stoneybrook University where I now work . But this was 1966. THey played with the Youngbloods. I had just graduated HS and as we entered the Gym the Youngbloods were looking for roadies to help them finish setting up. Lucky us got picked. That was the first concert I ever worked. Unfortunately it didnt pay anything . Great show though and great seats

Little known fact: The Beatles were approached to do a Lord of the Rings movie in the 60's. Never happened, but I'd still like to see an animated musical version ala "Yellow Submarine"... "I've got a ring in me pocket."

Another movie I'd have liked to see: "Superman" starring Elvis Presley... with Ann Margaret as Lois Lane. "Viva, Metropolis".

Personally, I would rather see Lord of the Rings by Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd (though that would have been impossible... even if Waters, Hendrix, and Barrett had been alive at the right time, they would have argued the project into the ground).

Oddly enough, "The Wall" goes along really well with "Fellowship of the Ring". If you start the music at the right time, the coincidences are really wierd.
