Just a quick query - anyone had the AI attempt a night battle against them? I lowered the command attribute requirement from 5 to 3 in an attempt to actually play a more night or two, and while I've since been able to initiate a few, I've yet to see the AI use them...

Just remember - don't ask for a night-battle if you're counting on reinforcements from a nearby captain. I learned that lesson the hard way...

(And I haven't seen any night-battles started by the ai)

Yes - my first BI battle was a night-assault commenced by the Huns. My wife was playing the Sarmatians and she asked me to handle the battle when the Huns assaulted her town.

Since then, though, I haven't seen a single one.

I have had one so far as the ERE. Two Gothic armies attacked my army on the Danube frontier. I was counting on reinforcements from a captain commanding my cavalry force but unfortunately captains cannot fight night battles so I was on my own.

Yes, the Huns seems to like night battles, so I have repulsed a few night assaults on my cities and had a few regular night battles. All against the Huns.

Yeah... Nothing quite like galloping around on a horse in the dark shooting arrows at targets equally in the dark!!! ~D

Still it is nice to hear of the AI actually making use of this...
