I am looking for some information on the colonization of Africa. I read in a magazine called the New African that the early missionaries had a significant role to play in the colonization of Africa.

Does anyone have any information on the role of the church in colonization in Africa or elsewhere ? Any information and preferably reading material (links, books etc) would be most appreciated.

Many people in Africa wanted education; and missionaries taught people to read, in order that they might understand the word of God.
