Onimusha-Total War
Well, for the past few days I've not been Modding at all, simply resting for a while, anyway, now NagatsukaShumi is back and I'm better than ever. Now as you can see the topic and the title is "Onimusha-Total War", I guess you asking yourself, what the hell is Onimusha-Total War? Well I'll explain it to you.
For the Playstation 2 (And X-Box I believe) there is a series of games named Onimusha, Onimusha : Warlords and Onimusa 2 : Samurai's Destiny about Nobunaga's resurrection as the Demon King, I'm sure some of you will either have it or have read about it. Well obviously it is set in Feudal Japan, however not all of the actual MOD will depict the game's time zone which is simply about the space of 10-14 years, but in Onimusha 2 (Sorry if this spoils anything for you if you haven't found this out yet) you recieve a document called "The Demon History" which talks about a war between Demons and the Oni, so I am going to include that in the MOD. Now I'm guessing your all going, so Rome is been cancelled, and that's where you are incorrect, I intend to continue with the MOD, but I want to get this one out first, the reasons for this descision will become evident in the following Q&A.
Is the MOD based at all on reality?
Yes, several factions/daimyo involved in the MOD would have been around in real life, like Shimazu, Takeda and Uesugi, and of coarse Oda Nobunaga, however he was really not a Demon King, but no one is.
Why release this first?
CREATIVITY. Again... CREATIVITY. With the Roman MOD I am restricted in what I can do because obviously I can't make a Demon Faction as it would ultimately look pretty poor in that type of MOD. But with this I can let my mind run wild with ideas and lots of creative stuff can sprout from my mind. Already I've had lots of idea's, and I'm set to have more. This MOD I believe will be more fun anyway, watching Humans go at it with Demons in Total War will be awesome, especially seen as I am the one creating the Demons, because of this there will be concept art available on the website showing you how my drawings looked before Lord Krazy recreated them in BIF format, of coarse the Demons won't be extremely complex, most will simply be Samurai's with Demon features, but some may look complex, it depends what limitations on BIF graphics is.
Why this sudden turn to fantasy?
I have just got my copy of Onimusha 2, and I remember why I loved the first one, it's a mixture of fantasy and reality, I do like that idea for a computer game simply because you don't have to stick to been accurate all the time, plus it allows alot more variations in units instead of one man with different armour or a different weapon, and I can run wild while inventing the units, and of coarse some faction will have to invented too.
What about the Map?
Somehow I will implement the Shogun map into the game so that it is Japan not Europe that the battles will be commencing upon, plus the story allows cannons as the Demons have excellent sceince that they trade with the humans, or atleast they did. Plus I intend on making new maps for the game.
What about religion?
There is absolutely no religion on this game, it has been replaced by what race/civilisation a faction, so a Demon faction would have the Demon race as it's "religion" so it would recieve Demon units.
What is this Demon vs Oni you speak of?
Well in the game it gives the simple statement that the Demon King created Humans as a food source for the Demons, eventually they came to an agreement, the Demons would give the humans their science and in return the humans would give the Demons a scarifice, in the Far East (Japan) however there was a clan who refused to follow the Demon's orders, they were called the Oni, the Oni had mystical powers which allowed them to suck the souls out of a dead Demon, a war ensued, but the Demons won.
Website?
Yeah, I'll make a website for it, with a forum so that we don't take up loads of space here, and lots of polls for you to take part in so that you cna help influence it's production.
So there's the news, please reply with any questions you have.
