Hey,

I have had previous made many maps for other games but none for STW or MTW before so I have totally no clue.

I have managed to figure out how to make a map so far but there are certain things I want to do which I don't know if it's possible to do them or not and I want all of this to be available in a download that others can download and play in multiplayer.

Ok well basically i'm going to attempt a World War 2 add on for MTW.

Firstly I have made the basic map but I have been wondering if its possible to do the following things (which will decide if I go ahead with the idae or not).

1. Is it possible for me to create my own ambient sounds for a custom map, if so how?

2. Is it possible to change the music at the beggining of the game, the moving stage of the game and the fighting stage of the game from the default music to something else I choose(I don't think medieval music would go well with a world war 2 campaign).

3. Is it possible to create my own units (I know at this stage I cannot but with the forth coming patch?) and if so how would I do it?

Thankyou if you know answers in the vaguest way to any of these questions i'll very much appreciate your help thanks.

1-You can change the noises a units will make i.e. Hore Growl, Musket Blast etc.

2-You can change the music.

3-You already can add your own units.

Sure is. We're trying to document this at present (see thread "Animation in MTW ...."). Should get to the bits about creating new units in 2/3 days.

Alternately do a ssearch in this forum for the names "Lord Krazy" and "Barocca". They are heavily involved in creating new units at present so any thread where they contribute to generally contains info re new units.

Also you can download a few examples of new unit add-ons in the Orgs download section. These components of these add-ons should give you a rough idea of what is required.

Have you tried the WWII mod for MythII, the formation warfare in Medieval/Shogun doesn't really fit WWII-style fighting.

I remember WW2 in myth 2 being a way for people to get celest easy http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Well that is kind of what inspired me and the thought of formation did cross my mind.

I was thinking perhaps of keeping the unit sizes down to about 7 - 12 men each and changing the formation file into something similar to a myth scattered formation.

I would also try and take off morale etc and work around varous things.
