Just wondering if anyone knows somewhere I can look up R:TW benchmark results for things like CPUs, video cards etc?

I have never heard of an in-game benchmark test using RTW, and have never seen any mentioned in a hardware review. But if you want advice on hardware I and the people who frequent the apothecary can most likely help.

You can use Fraps to benchmark RTW (sort of). There is however no built in benchmark for RTW.

I've seen a couple of hardware reviews that use R:TW plus FRAPS. Haven't been able to find anything that will allow me to do a like for like comparison though.

I'm relatively happy with R:TW performance, only experiencing some slowdown in huge battles with several thousand men on screen (Athlon XP2500+, 1GB RAM, Geforce 6600GT 128mb etc). At some point I'd like to do a motherboard and CPU replacement (which is finally a relatively inexpensive option now that ULI have released a s939 chipset that does both 16x PCI_E and 8xAGP at full speed).

Trouble is, I don't think the amount of money I'd want to spend will make a vast improvement. It'd be nice to be able to put some numbers on it so I can decide whether to take the plunge soon or wait a bit longer.

Edit: Any chance a mod can shift this over to Apothecary?

Not sure if it'll help.

I just made a new PC

AMD Athlon64 3700+ (San Diego)
MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum Motherboard (nForce4 Ultra Chipset)
1 Gig DDR 400Mhz Ram (Dual Ch)
Asus Extreme 7800GTX TOP (Factory Overclocked at 486/1350)
Forceware 78.01, Latest Motherboard BIOS and Drivers etc.

I did a few tests with FRAPS with all settings at MAX, 1280x1024x32 Resolution, High AA and the game still slows down with two full stacks/armies on the Battlemap (on large Unit Settings) if you zoom out to an Angle where both full armies are in view.

I have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with P4 3GHZ Laptop as well and RTW plays fine on that as well, with slightly lower settings. I have a 6600GT with Athlon64 3000 at the office, but havent benchmarked RTW on that PC yet.
