Its all in the title really
In BI I want to shorten all the build times for military units to zero. Before BI I was playing SPQR (which btw had o year build times for military units) and I am now climbing the walls waititng to make stacks. Please help, and please dumb down your explanations as much as possible

There is a SPQR dl for BI that does just that, aswell as remove peasants and fixes unit colors alittle bit.

I would like to play Vanilla BI for a while before I try a modded version EXCEPT I want to reduce the build times. I am sure I will dl the SPQR mod for BI at some stage

Open Rome - Total War\bi\data\export_descr_unit.txt in Notepad. Press Ctrl-H. Replace all instances of
stat_cost 1with
stat_cost 0, then repeat for
stat_cost 2. Make sure you get the spacing right―there are exactly eight spaces. (Assuming BI doesn't use different conventions.) This will work with previously saved games.
And make sure you back up your files!
something you might want to know is that if you set the build to 0 it won't work, so just put in 1 I think that the minimum you can put. I tried it before so I know :)

maybe install SPQR in a separate Folder ...
...and Take it apart comparing the Modded Files with the Vanilla ones?
It is one of the ways to learn when answers dont fall from the Authors :charge:
Besides, the authors are prolly busy making another mod :)
