Hi, I'm learning MAx and have changed a model and would like someone to test it, preferably a Max pro, to see if I've modelled it correctly. I removed the feathers from the helmet and added a crest and stand.

I've also changed the skin TGA, adding a crest and changing the armour and helmet look. I'm having a problem removing the black sections around the shield and cheek guards, they show up in the game? any help?

Thanks

I am not a max pro, but the black around your shield and crest is becouse of the alpha chanel in your tga.dds file. The alpha chanel is a picture like the skin, but instead of colors on your model, it setts transparency.

The alphachanel uses only black/white color. very black spot becomes transparent on the model. I don\t know if you use the DDS plugin for photoshop, or the DTXbmp tool, but if you search a bit, you find lots of tutorials to implement the alpha chanel.

If you use gray color in the layer, you can get semitransparent parts, that can look neat for hait, and fur edges, or eaven colored glass.

Heres a banner i made with just fooling with the alphachanel~:)

If i remeber to do so, i could fix the alpha on your tga.dds file this eavening, its quite easy.
