Does anyone here have SWAT 4 besides me? It'd be fun to set up a co-op squad with the folks here. I found the game fun, some SWAT 3 players weren't as moved by it, but that was a different age they played in. Still, the co-op is very tense and exciting with the right folks and never plays the same way twice.

I don't have the game , but I do have a question ;
Is SWAT 4 something like the rainbow six series?
These types of games I usually like a lot, though in the end it does get a little repetative, MP should be fun , never done that with Rainbow 6.

Try the demo. The game is similar, but there is less of a planning stage as SWAT has less time before action. The object is life-saving, which means you have to yell for compliance and wait for the suspect to raise his gun before you can kill him without losing points. You also have to secure the suspects' guns and report things in to command.
MP Co-op is a good challenge and an expansion pack is coming next year.

I have SWAT4 and I really enjoy it, never tried the MP however... I perfer my MP fast, loud and not requiring too much investment (i.e BF2)...
It is very similar to RB6:Raven Shield in some ways (unifirms, guns, maps) but different in others (far more restrictive rules of engagement, less variety in environments, command system)...
The SWAT4 context sensitive command system is slightly more user friendly then the RS one in my opinion and very effective for controlling your guys. It only misses the ability to preset some order awaiting your GO code and this is being introduced in the expansion...
One big difference is the rules of engagement and passing a mission. In RS you have a goal and as long as you achieve that goal nothing else matters...
In SWAT4 how you achieve your goal is just as important. Each mission requires a set number of points to gained in order to pass. You get nebulous goals like "bring order to chaos" which basically translates to "bring down all the bad guys"! Now if you capture a bad guys (and remember to report it on the radio) you get max points, if you kill or seriously injure a bad guy you get a lesser number of points. If you shoot a bad guy who is not actually pointing his gun at someone you will lose points (kill him and lose loads of points). When you arrest or kill the bad guys their weapons will be laying around and you need to collect these to gain points. If you find civilians wandering around you need to secure (e.g. cuff) them and report this.
Basically you get points for acting like a cop and lose for acting like you would in RS... ~D
This becomes pretty hard in the later levels where you are facing home grown terrorist types in body armour with gasmasks and assault rifles. The R6 style will get you through the mission fast but you will probably fail unless you succeed in arresting at least a few...
I am really looking forward to the expansion pack, it sounds cool...

I forgot to mention that the repetitiveness is both decreased and even increased by the fact that the bad guys and hostages spawn in random places every round. The round plays differently every time, but you also have to take every door and corner seriously every time.
EDIT: Care to play Co-op sometime, Bob?
MP should be fun , never done that with Rainbow 6.

That is where the meat is manos! The single player of the r6 series just suck compared to the swat series, but ohhhhh the multiplayer. Unlike other games the rainbow six series also has a very pleasant community.
