hej peoplez... i was wondering... as i have tried and have experience on the level of a dead peasant when it comes to editing medieval, is there a way to increase the army size limit, so i can have the same variation of troops but, for eg 300-400 foot knights for ex. per unit group... call me a massive battle fetishist but that would be a (debateable)more realistic historical battle considering some battles were pretty huge...

ps.. anyone else really really really hope they will eventually release a totalwar for the 30year war period in europe... specially for us swedes...hehe....

There's a limit of 100 men per unit in the spreadsheet, which can produce up to 200 men on the battlefield if you turn the unit size slider all the way up.

Any attempt to create a unit with more than 200 soldiers is doomed to failure, possibly explosively so.

Hi GilJaySmith!

So THAT must have been the problem... what you're saying is its not recommended to do units over 100 men? Will it crash the program? I did a mod that made regular units 200 men max for spearmen/peasants, etc. It worked fine for a while but later on the game would crash for no reason. Was that the problem? So whats the safe limit that won't crash the game?

Thanks,

Ummm... He just said that 100 men is the limit, and more than 100 men will cause crashes.

If you want 200 man units, play with huge units.

I remember how it worked in STW, you could have the maximum amount of men in units (120) but only if the unit size was on 'small'.

It seems that they have changed that now...but thats OK because the base is higher.

I hope that the patch will bring real editibility, like we saw in MI - with that, then we can really try to manipulate the units for our own pleasure (and anyone elses if we decide to actually make the game marginally historical (god forbid http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif )
